 INTRODUCTION
Many people dream of moving abroad and it is quite obvious. If you are getting good
employment opportunities, better salaries, benefits, and a good work culture that can help to get
an improved lifestyle, then working abroad can surely be tried. Filipinos wants to go abroad
because of the said advantages that can be a good example of their income for a better life.
Working Abroad is working away from our homeland. Nowadays, it has become a
fashion to move abroad and work in order to earn money. People move from one country to
another in search of the job or to settle. Now at least one member from one family is surely seen
either preparing to move abroad. (Chitra Reddy, 2016). Earning in dollars, euro, yen etc. that is
in foreign currency and their lifestyle most probably attracts the people and this is the ultimate
reason for people going abroad.
As we all know, Nursing is one of the most trusted and honorable professionals because
they do so much care for individuals, their presence 24/7 has transformed lives. We need more
nurses because by increasing in the number of nurses they have on staff, they can ensure that
each patient is able to receive the healthcare they need.it is quite clear why we need more
qualified nurses in our healthcare, especially in the Philippines.
According to Lorenzo, et. al.2005, Nurses now make up the largest group of direct health
care providers in the Philippines. And it a job-scarce environments and even for those with jobs
in the health care sector, poor working condition.” It is the reason why often motivate nurses to
seek employment overseas. Filipino health system, including the closure of many hospitals is the
reason why most of our nurses go to abroad.
Therefore, researchers believes that most of the Fresh Graduates in Nursing need to
develop or enhance their skills and have experience in the Philippines before going abroad. This
research aims to dig deeper understanding with respect the reasons why they want to work
abroad rather than in our country. In addition, they can also work without experience but their
profession is not always align with the work that will be given to them.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The study aims to answer the problem which mainly concerned on job preferences of
Nursing Fresh Graduates of BPSU in Academic Year 2018-2019 regarding with the overseas job.
Specifically, it seeks to answer to the following questions:
1. How do the fresh graduates prove their competence with zero experience?
2. Why do fresh graduates want to work abroad?
3. What are the advantages and disadvantages working abroad of Nursing Graduate?
4. What are the implications of the study?

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The purpose of the study is to determine the job preference of fresh nursing graduates of
Bataan Peninsula State University in Academic Year 2018-2019 regarding why they want to
work in abroad. Moreover, this study will provide benefits for the fresh nursing graduates to
ascertain how advantageous or disadvantageous of their profession to work in abroad or
overseas. This research can help the nursing graduates able to share their learned knowledge,
skills and become globally-competitive professionals in the future of their chosen country. This
study can be beneficial to community or nation as it gives a greater impact to rise the economy.
Correspondingly, it will be useful to the future researchers to have an insights on what are the
factors that affects to the fresh nursing graduates why they want to work in abroad and the
implication of this in the future.
 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
In relation to the problems which are needed to be addressed, there are corresponding
objectives which are needed to establish for the study to be fulfilled. There are three (3)
objectives presented and these are:
1. To describe the fresh graduates techniques in job application;
2. To understand the reasons in working abroad;
3. To identify the advantages and disadvantages of working abroad of Nursing Graduates; and
4. To determine the implications of the study.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

The general intent of this study is to explain the job preferences of Nursing Fresh
Graduates with regards to overseas job. This study compile with the researchers started on March
2020 up to _____. The main source of data was semi-structured interview which was help to
gather information about the topic with ten (10) respondents from Bachelor of Science in
Nursing Students— male or female of Bataan Peninsula State University with the age of 20-35
years old.

METHODOLOGY
The researchers employed a Case Study type of Qualitative Research in which to know
the job preferences of Nursing Graduates with regards to overseas job. Moreover, the researchers
gathered information through the use of semi-structured interview of ten (10) respondents to
capture their ideas, opinions regarding to the study.
This research also utilized purposive sampling strategy in selecting the informants of this
study. Herewith, students who graduated in Bataan Peninsula State University and those who are
in the course of Bachelor of Science in Nursing are qualified to be one of the respondents.
This study shall observe the ethical procedure in data collection process. As part of the
data gathering process, the researchers prepared interview, consent forms to protect the identity
and privacy of the respondents and also to ask permission from the respondents if they are
willing to participate on the study. In addition, the Qualitative Data has been manually analyze
the response of the respondents through coding and thematic analysis.
