Nonparametric Statistics for Three populations

For each question, do the hypothesis testing by hand and by SPSS
1. A drug company would like to test the efficiency of three drug formulas (A, B, and C) for
losing weight. The company randomly selected 15 people to receive one formula of the
drug (5 people per 1 formula). Each person took only one formula of the drug for 3
months. After 3 months, people weight were measured. Weight loss (in kg) are shown
below.

Drug Weight loss (kg)

Formula A 14 12 10 8 10
Formula B 8.5 5 5.5 6 6
Formula C 7 9 6 4.5 5

Test the efficiency of three formulas at 0.05 significant level. Assume that weight loss for
people who used drug A, weight loss for people who used drug B, and weight loss for people
who used drug C are not normal distributed.
2. In a singing competition, three judges were asked to rate 9 singers from 10-point scale
where 1=worst and 10=best. The results are shown here. Can we conclude at the 5%
significance level that there are differences in evaluating from three judges?

Singers 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Judge 1 6 9 6 5 7 5 6 6 7
Judge 2 5 8 9 8 7 8 7 7 9
Judge 3 4 9 7 7 6 7 9 9 8
