Using the above data, look for the following:

1. Set the classes using 5 as class interval, tally write the frequency, CF<, CF>, CPF ≤,
CPF ≥ , and midpoint
2. Mean
3. Mode
4. First quartile
5. Third quartile
6. Seventh decile
7. Sixty-fifth percentile
8. Ninetieth percentile
9. Plot the data in line graph and label the mean, median and mode.

B. Compute the mean, median, mode, standard deviation, variance, of the following scores
in 90-item test in statistics taken by 30 students. ( show all your solutions/computations,
encircle your final answer/s)

78 78 77 77 75 75 74 74 73 73 73 70 70 82 86
65 65 65 65 64 63 62 61 60 58 57 55 85 80 82

C. Use the above data ( B) by using computer to solve for the mean, median, mode,
standard deviation, and variance. Just copy what will appear on your computer /
laptop.

Test II- INTERPRETATION OF DATA

1. Problem A : Miss X conducted a study between economic status and job performance of
the government employees in Mindanao. The specific research problem is “ Is there a
significant difference between economic status and job performance of government
employees in Mindanao?” The artificial results are as follows:
JOB PERFORMANCE ECONOMIC STATUS TOTAL
Below Middle Middle Above Middle
Outstanding 18 35 23
Very Satisfactory 22 47 30
Satisfactory 15 33 22
TOTAL

Of the results above, answer the following:

1. State the null hypothesis.
2. Give the appropriate statistical tool.
3. Compute the results.
4. Solve for the degrees of freedom.
5. Give the tabular value at 0.01 level.
6. Is the computed value, significant or not? Why?
7. Interpret the results.
8. Do you accept / reject the null hypothesis? Why?
NOTE: Use the Tabular Value ( TV ) @ 0.01 level of significance if:
Df1 = 6.64 df3 = 11.34
Df2 = 9.21 df4 = 13.28

2. Problem B “ Is there a significant differences on the weight increment of grouper

cultured in fish cages at the Carigara Bay using bread meal, and fish meal as
supplemental feeds? The fictitious results are as follows:

1. State the appropriate statistical treatment.
2. Compute the results with the use of the computer. Show the steps.
3. Give the quantitative and qualitative results.
4. Interpret the results.
5. Answer the research problem.
NOTE: Use t-test: Two –Sample assuming Unequal Variances.
- Compare computed value ( CV ) from tabular value ( TV ) @ 0.01 level of significance
level if:
Df10 = 3.169 df12 = 3.055
Df11 = 3.106 df13 = 3.012

3. Is there a significant difference on the teaching of Mr. Santos in Mathematics to grade 7

students using Method 1 and Method 2?
Note : use t-test: Paired Two-Sample for Means
