Ivone: Cyberbullying usually occur
in social media. Based on
UNICEF websites,84% of
Malaysian reported that
they have been bullied
online. Since anyone can
create a fake accout and do
anything without being
traced,it has become quite
easy for anyone to bully on
social media.
Threats,intimidation
messages and rumors can
be sent to the victims.
Edna: Is there any effects for the
victims?
Ivone: Yes,it does. The victims are
usually at increased risk for
depression and have low
self-esteem. It is also hard
for them to befriend with
anyone either online or at
schools.
Edna: It sounds awful and I feel
pity for the victims. It is
very unfortunate to hear
 those things. The victims
surely suffer too much.
Besides cyberbullying,what
is the disadvantage of using
social media?

Besides cyberbullying,social
media can also easily ruin
someone’s reputation just
by creating a false story and
spreading across the social
media. This is usually
happens when there is a
person who have bad
intentions towards
someone else. They can
also hack someone’s
account and sharing their
personal data and privacy
on the internet.

Everything in this world
surely does has its own
 disadvantages. However,
there are some advantages
of using social media if a
person using it wisely.
Firstly, the main advantage
of social media is
connectivity. People from
anywhere can connect with
anyone,regardless of the
location and religion. We
do not have to write a letter
to our loved ones and wait
for a few months for their
reply. With the advanced
technology, we can right
away do video calls using
Skype or Whatsapp. The
students can also right
away chat their teachers
and ask for help about the
subjects that they weak of.
