Why carbohydrates, protein, and hydration are needed in exercise and sports?

The body absolutely needs carbohydrates for survival and a healthy metabolism.
Especially if exercising, carbohydrates are needed - they are the fuel to assist our
metabolism, feed our brain and manage our stress hormone. Protein is important in
sports and exercising as it can boost glycogen storage, reduce muscle soreness and
promote muscle repair. Hydration provides enough energy for the activity, maintain fluid
and electrolytes balance, replenish glycogen stores and repair muscle for next workout.
Water regulates our body temperature and lubricates our joints. It also helps transport
nutrients to give energy and keep healthy while exercising.
