For and against essay

“Online lessons for school-leavers”

This year the world stopped right in it’ s tracks, when a global pandemic spread all over the
world. Everyday life, sports, live events, people’s jobs and of course, education was affected
by the coronavirus. Students were attending classes virtually, rather than going to school and
sitting in a classroom, which was difficult especially for 12th graders. Online lessons became
a topic of debate and there exists convincing discussion on both sides of the argument. While
many people feel that virtual learning is beneficial for school-leavers, there are other opinions
regarding the subject.

One argument in favour of online learning for graduates is that it comes with a very flexible
schedule. That way students can focus more on a hobby or start focusing towards their future
careers by doing research and sharpening their skills. Furthermore, studying from home
reduces expenses. Not spending so much money in the canteen or on public transport helps to
save up money, which is very valuable for pupils who are graduating for the reason that they
will need the finances when studying abroad or living by themselves.

However, opponents completely disagree that e-learning for the future alumni is better than
the traditional education. They claim that distractions and the lack of self-discipline leads
school-leavers to becoming lazy and not getting anything done. Pupils with less willpower
tend to neglect important work and that can even affect their final exam results or being
completely lost in university courses. In addition to this, it lacks human interaction. For many
students it is way easier to ask a teacher face to face for immediate feedback and quick
answers.

In conclusion, I personally believe that online learning for school graduates is more
beneficial, because it saves up time and money. Being in school for 12 years most students
already know what they want to do and not wasting precious hours during breaks or sitting on
a bus overshadows traditional education in personal view.
