Good morning everyone

Respected Teacher & my dear friends, today I am going to talk about “why
friends are important for us”

If I was asked to tell in one line that why I need a friend, I shall say “A good
friend refreshes our soul”.

Friends are as important as our family . They are the people who stay by your
side in good as well as bad times.

Friends, I must say are the family you choose for yourself. A life without
friends is wasted. Friendship is usually formed when people have common
choices or some common likeness, however, it is not a necessary condition,
sometimes people with different tastes also form long term friendships.

We need friends for various reasons. Friends multiply our joys and share our
sorrows. It is a normal phenomenon that when we achieve something in our life,
we tell our friends. They help us to develop our social skills. While we are with
friends we learn how to get along with others and respect each other’s feelings.
We also develop a sense of belongingness. Since man is a social animal, it is
important that such skills are ingrained in us.

We also need friends because they are non-judgmental about us. They know our
good side as well as the bad side and accept us as we are.

Pragnya is my best friend. I like being with him because he plays with me. I
also share my experiences with him. We sometimes together plan some
mischiefs and pranks which are funny, and we enjoy them. However, he stops
me from doing wrong things or things that can be harmful. Friends give you
right advice and refrain you from doing acts that can harm us or others.

Towards the end, I can say that we have numerous reasons for having friends
and not even one reason for not having a friend, however, it is important that we
choose our friends wisely because our friends are a reflection of us. We should
never bully our friends or become friends with people who does the same to us
as it can affect our confidence and self-respect.

So, find a friend who respects you for being “You”
