“Ryuko”

Scene 1:
Actor 1: “They should have prayed.”

“This is not the key.”

“They did not witness what we’ve suffered.” *cough

“There will be chaos everywhere. ” *cough *cough and then he fell on the
ground *HAUNTED MUSIC

Narrator:
In Kyoto, people are suffering from plague and pestilence. Many individuals are worried,
so they demanded to the emperor to isolate those who are sick and affected with the said
epidemic disease. After a week, people celebrated for its positive result.

Scene 2:
Actor 2: We should be thankful that we are safe.

Actor 3: This is a great success, a great progress.

Actor 4: The emperor is truly a descendant from heaven for he had stopped the plague.

Actor 1: We should hold a feast so that Gods will give us peace and harmony.

Actor 4&3: Hai

Narrator:
Without the information of everybody, one of the affected persons joined them
secretly. They celebrated all through the night without knowing it.

Scene 3: (After 2 Days)

Perform. Actor 5 to Actor 9

Actor 5 to 8: *vomits and feels dizzy

Scene 4:
Actor 10: Why is this happening?

Emperor: I already granted what you’ve asked to lessen the epidemic.

Actor 11: But what should we do?

Emperor: This would be the last time we’ll do this. We should appeal to the Deity Gozu
Tennoh.

Narrator:

But, the disease becomes unstoppable. It rapidly spreads out even more. So they
decided to do the same thing again, an appeal to the Deity Gozu Tennoh, but this time a feast
for him.

Scene 5: Gion Matsuri

Perform. Actors and backup dancers.

Narrator:

After they have celebrated the feast, the epidemic disease stopped and everybody who
was affected is being cured. And from then on, they perform it every year and every time an
outbreak occurred.
