Assessment of learning
(summative)
a) assessment that is accompanied by a number or letter grade(summative), goes wit
number, grades, etc.
b) compares one student's achievement with standards(:refers to the grading system
based on a criteria)
purpose : for grading.
c) result can be comminicated to the studet and parents
d) occurs at the end of the learning unit

formative assessment
-occurs during the learning or before also
-to improve leaning
-grows learning
-done with learners
-narrows the ability range
-personally referenves
-process focused

a)comprisees two phrases-initial or diagnostic assessment and formative assessment

ex. portfolios, works in progress, teacher observation)
