1. What is industrial design?

Industrial design is a process of design applied to products that are to be manufactured through

techniques of mass production. Its key characteristic is that design is separated from
manufacture: the creative act of determining and defining a product's form and features takes
place in advance of the physical act of making a product, which consists purely of repeated, often
automated, replication. This distinguishes industrial design from craft based design, where the
form of the product is determined by the product's creator at the time of its creation.

2. Briefly explain the primary responsible of industrial designer.

-The role of an industrial designer is to create and execute design solutions for problems of form,
function, physical ergonomic, brand development marketing and sales. Industrial Design is a
strategic problem-solving process that drives innovation, builds business success, and leads to a
better quality of life through innovative products, systems, services, and experiences. Industrial
Design bridges the gap between what is and what’s possible. It is a trans-disciplinary profession
that harnesses creativity to resolve problems and co-create solutions with the intent of making a
product, system, service, experience or a business, better.

3. Can you differentiate between product design and industrial designers?

- product design meant to be sold to consumers, whatever that product might be. It’s how we get
new things or new versions of things we already use. Industrial design is the exact same thing,
but it more pertains to things that have a functional value, especially things that require
industrialization to produce, such as vehicles, buildings, and so forth. Items developed through
industrial design are not necessarily designed for the sole benefit of the user but their design
goals may make things easier for the manufacturer, as well.
4. Briefly explain the impact of industrial design and role of industrial designer in creating a
product.

Industry designers often create product aspects with the aim of attracting and forming emotional
relationships with end users. Designers combine all aspects of functionality, suitability, and form
while optimizing it to ensure the best possible user experience. They also provide a visually
appealing design that is time-resistant. Designers combine their creativity, skills, and knowledge
to ensure that the products they produce are ergonomically appropriate to suit their natural needs,
including functionality and interface. Designers can often ensure that these features will
determine the long-term success of the product in the market. In a consumer-oriented market,
more often than not, all businesses that choose to leave the design aspects of the industry to the
end of their engineering life cycle will struggle to succeed.

heart, Industrial Design provides a more optimistic way of looking at the future by reframing
problems as opportunities. It links innovation, technology, research, business, and customers to
provide new value and competitive advantage across economic, social, and environmental
spheres
