EFFECT: Frodo goes on a journey to

Bilbo might not have retired and left The One Ring to Frodo and then Frodo would not have gone on the journey or the journey might have been
significantly changed.

2. What might a new effect have been (use your imagination)?


Bilbo might have gone on the journey, instead of Frodo, to destroy The One Ring. Or maybe Bilbo and Frodo would have gone together.

If you know the rest of the story, the journey might have failed due to Bilbo have a stronger attachment to The One Ring. On the other hand, if they had left
earlier, they might have more easily succeeded as Sauron’s forces were not as strong as they would later become.
