INTRODUCTION

Indian politicians beautifully capture the rich diversity

of India as there has always been a representation of almost
all the sections of the society when it comes to the
mainstream Indian politics. Politicians have always played
a pivotal role in the development of a nation. India has not
been different in any way as it has witnessed many
politicians of repute throughout its rich history of pre-
independence era and India continues to have famous
politicians even after attaining independence in 1947. Both
the houses of Parliament in India namely, the Rajya Sabha
and the Lok Sabha have had representation from all the
corners of the country. Factors like age, gender, cast, color,
religion, etc. have not come as a hindrance in any way for
the people of India to choose Politics as their primary
occupation.

"The image of a politician in the eyes of the

common person is not good. People are afraid of their
leaders and do not want to approach them. Now we have to
take the responsibility to change the image of the ugly
Indian politician. "There is a sharp decline in the principles
of youth joining politics. All of them want an instant rise
but lack the values of dedication and selfless service. In
fact, every field of society has seen a downfall in values,
but unfortunately, people raise fingers only towards
politicians."
Politicians want to make a difference to the society,
they want to contribute, carry on the legacy of their
ancestors who have made a name for themselves serving
the country. We are not bothered about 36 billionaires in
India. We talk about 700 million poor and very poor.
because its impossible for India to become affluent over
night, too massive a population. It will take a very long
time for average living standards to rise to a decent level, if
ever.

EFFECTS ON EDUCATION
-Free education provided to girls by government.

-Planning to adopt a centralized board of education in the

whole country so that all the students of the country can get
same knowledge and their can be no bias in selecting them.
-Indianpoliticians have historically skirted the issue of
poverty, and they have been especially reluctant to improve
mass education for poor and rural citizens.

-In recent years, however, Indian politicians have

increasingly supported mass education reform, and have
even reversed their long-standing resistance to compulsory
education.

-As a result, literacy has increased almost 20% in the last

20 years, tens of thousands of new schools have been built
in the last 10 years, and just last summer a compulsory
education act was unanimously supported in the Rajya
Sabha, subsequently flying through the Lok Sabha before
being signed into law.

-To finance these education reforms, both major parties

have pledged to increase spending on education by 2% of
GDP by 2012 on top of the already-substantial increases in
outlays made recently.

EFFECETS ON
ECONOMY:
The Indian economy is questioned to be the most corrupted
and poor economy but in the past years it is one of the
world’s fastest growing economy. It is now recognized as
the most powerful economy in the world and the
government policies have played a huge part in this it can
be very well explained by the economic meltdown that
occur in the whole world that occur recently ,the depression
that took place in America had huge effect on the whole
world all the countries were shattered by this depression
but Indian economy was least affected by this meltdown n
this is because of the savings n consumption policies
adopted by the Indian banking government. The foreign
direct investment policy adopted by the Indian government
has also helped to increase the investment in the public
services n has also helped the private sector of the country
and has generated many employment opportunities
throughout the country. The Indian economy now stands a
very powerful position in the world market and is regarded
parallel to the economy of country like U.S and U.K

EFFECTS ON
INFRASTRUCTURE, R&D
AND MEDICAL SCIENCE:
There has been a tremendous amount of growth in the
building of roads railways and airports in the recent years.
There are international airports available in all the big cities
of india ,the railway tracks are laid down all across the
country even connecting the smallest of villages to one
another. The concrete roads ,flyovers, national highways
have increased the standard of living of the Indian people
India is the third highest country of the world who has one
of the largest force of engineers, doctors and scientists, and
the number of such experts are increasing day by day and
in near future india will have the lagest force of experts and
technician who are valued all over the world.
WOMEN IN INDIAN
POLITICS:
In today’s era of modernization women have made their
presence felt in almost every field and Politics is no
exception. Although India is known for its male chauvinist
societies since ages, the ice is now gradually breaking.
Indian politics is now defined and governed by majority of
women politicians. The current parliament has seen the
highest number of female candidates in its history. All the
major parties have strong ‘women wings’ which has a huge
impact on large number of women voters and also allures
women to join the political parties. On the grass root level
women seats are reserved in Panchayats and they actively
participate in the decision making. World’s respectable
magazines like Forbes have put some of the Indian Political
women in their list of more powerful women.
Big Names: After Indira Gandhi’s demise there was no big
woman name in the Indian Political arena for almost a
decade. But today this picture has changed and Indian
women have come out of their ‘sari-dhoti’ image and
entrap the Political world by their power and hard work.
Sonia Gandhi is the live example of the same and she is
now an inspiration for millions of Indian women.
YOUTH AND POLITICS:
India has the largest youth population in the world and as
we all know the future of any country depends on its youth
source. So now its high time that the youth of india with its
creative and fresh ideologies should enter the political
system to secure a good future for the country. There have
been many places kept reserve for the young generation in
the parliament so that a perfect blend of youth and
experience can lead the country to new direction. Many
youths politician like Sameer Bhujbal, Nilesh Rane, Milind
Deora, Priya Dutt, Varun Gandhi, Jyoti Mirdha, Deependra
Hooda have entered the government and have changed the
Indian government scenario and represent the voice of
youth in the parliament. The best example of such youth
politician is :

Rahul Gandhi is an Indian politician and member of the

Parliament of India, representing the Amethi constituency.
[1] His political party is the Indian national Congress.[2]
He is a member of the Nehru-Gandhi family.
In his attempt to prove himself as a youth leader in
November 2008 he held interviews at his 12, Tughlak Lane
residence in New Delhi to handpick at least 40 people who
will make up the think-tank of the Indian Youth Congress
(IYC), an organisation that he has been keen to transform
since he was appointed general secretary in September
2007.[23]
Under Rahul Gandhi, IYC and NSUI has seen a dramatic
increase in members from a few hundred thousand to
several million.[24]
Rahul Gandhi participated in an interactive session with
students of Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. The
University student unions have been traditionally
dominated by the Left. His party, INC, however, was quick
to play up Rahul's visit to JNU as an “excellent example of
youth participation in politics”. Rahul's grandmother, Indira
Gandhi had to face huge opposition from Left student
unions during her visit to the university campus in 1982
because of her decision to impose emergency.[25] Rahul
was quizzed by the students on issues ranging from
hierarchical politics in India, to his visits to Dalit Houses,
economic growth in the country and education reforms.
Some papers, however, reported Rahul's visit to JNU as a
political attempt to strengthen the newly constituted unit of
NSUI at JNU.[25]

LEADING POLITCIANS:
NARENDRA MODI:
Narendra Modi is the Chief Minister of Gujarat, and he
has been able to successfully convert it into an investment
hotspot.

Modi took charge of Gujarat when its economy was

shrinking and the domestic growth was stagnant.[32] Faced
with massive economic losses, he re-organised the
government's administrative structure and embarked upon a
massive cost-cutting exercise.[33] As a result of his elaborate
efforts, Gujarat registered a GDP growth rate of over 10%
during his first tenure. This was the highest growth rate
among all the Indian states.[34]
As a Chief Minister, Modi concretely put to practice his
envisaged Gujarat by means of various yojana.[35] This
includes Panchamrut Yojana,[36][37][38] a five-pronged
strategy for an integrated development of the state, Sujalam
Sufalam, a scheme to create a grid of water resources in
• Krishi Mahotsav – agricultural research labs for the
land
• Chiranjeevi Yojana – to reduce infant mortality rate
• Beti Bachao – campaign to protect baby girls to
improve sex ratio
• Jyotigram Yojana – to electrify every village
• Kanya Kalavani Yojana – to encourage the education
of girls
• Balbhog Yojana – for midday meal for students
As a result of these yojna's Gujarat became number one
state in India in various perspective. He also took the
initiative to raise the controversial Narmada Dam's height
above 100 metres.
Modi went on to raise the dam's height to 121 metres even
after being criticised by environment activists. Though
large sections of farmers and other communities were
unhappy with his policies, industries thrived during his
regime and the condition of the infrastructure in the state
improved

CONCLUSION:
I just hope that Indian politics is enthused with more of the
young blood and people choose politics as a reason to serve
the nation and not themselves.
Most of the educated stay away from Politics stating that
they are neither“bothered nor affected”. It’s like when the
atmosphere is getting polluted by toxic smoke, we cannot
say that we are not concerned. We have to breathe-in to
live. When we are going to breathe polluted air, we will be
affected. Likewise if we don’t vote and assume that we are
not concerned, then we and our future generation are
definitely going to get affected.
