The end part of the following occurs only if they visit the house after dark. ‘Surprisingly, the inside of the house seems to have ‘escaped the deterioration that the exterior has suf- fered from years of neglect, almost as ifthe owner was restoring it by himself. A majestic spiral stair case leads to the second floor, and the wooden floor reflects the dancing lights coming from the candel braonthewalls, swellas romthetrulymagnificiont | ‘one suspended from the ceiling, bathing the whole place with an aura of mystery, a tranquillity NOT to be disturbed, a sanctuary of sorts... “WHO ARE YOU? GET OUT OF HERE!” The voice booms in the silence, sharp, precise, demanding... frightening. Frediick Vanderburgeris in no mood for any kindof vistors. In fact, he will do his utmost to rudely get them out of his house, the sooner the better. Should TESSY be with the party duting that encounter, he will suddenly stop in mid-sentence, eyes. wide with surprise, coming closer and closer to her, untilhe lifts a trembling hand toward her face and whispers a single word: Nataina... After a moment of uneasy silence, he will apologize softy to her fr his rudeness, explaining that she looks quite like his ate wife indicating the portrait hanging above the stats. From then on, he wil be most gracious to her, always looking at her and not paying much attention to anything else. eros Aside from the reactions already discussed above to specific characters’ actions, Fredrick Vanderburger is stil the main concern ofthe party. Should they be caught sneaking inside his home, only the presence of Tessy or other vampires may save them ffom utter destruction. He will have a story prepared when police or villagers come looking for the party ater a prolonged absence (say a full day). According to him, they did come to the house, but after he refused ther offer, they left in the direction of the deep bayous, talking about some exploration trek. OF course, he did warn them of the dangers, but youths, they wouldn't Isten to an elder Judicious use of psychic powers wilinsure that nobody ever ‘worries about them again.
