Philosophy Re: Education of Young Children

The nature of young children as human beings are young human beings learning about

themselves as well as the world around them. Young children are human beings that need and

want guidance. They are young human beings that many times in their life want to figure things

out, without someone stepping in before they can explore their choices. Young children are

human beings that adapt to the world. Jean Piaget`s theory is the constructivist theory children

construct an understanding of their world based on observations of the effects of their behavior

being their interactions with the world. Children are seen as active, actively seeking out

information about the world. Young children are human beings are intrinsically motivated to

learn.

The purpose of education of young children to promote school readiness and improved

learning outcomes of young children. Learning is what prepares young children for meaningful

citizenship, employment, postsecondary education, and active participation in a global society. It

is developmental and experiential. Learning is the only thing that matters. And children do learn

Young children learn through play and learn best when receiving quality care. Children taught at

an early age usually benefit in the following ways: improved social skills, less or no need for

special education instruction during subsequent school years, better grades, and enhanced

attention spans.
When it comes to the teacher's role and how I view the role is that the teacher is to design

curriculum to help students master a variety of subjects. When it comes to elementary teachers

are responsible for teaching core subjects like math, English, science and history. Secondary

teachers specialize in specific content areas, such as art, music or social studies. Every teacher is

a classroom manager who reinforces appropriate behaviors, measure student learning and create

inclusive learning environments. There are some teachers that work primarily with student

populations needing extra support, such as special education students or English Language

Learners.

When it comes to what I should know about the role of a teacher is that a teacher plays a

big role with children and their education. To sometimes how their day starts at school to how

their day ends at school. A teacher’s workday starts even before students arrive and may not end

until late in the evening. In addition to teaching and advising students during the day, teachers

must develop learner outcomes for lessons and send progress reports to parents. Teachers usually

have summers and holidays off. Teaching experience will help you feel more comfortable and

competent in the classroom. Teachers are the adults that children spend a large chunk of their

time with. They are with the children for around seven hours a day, five days a week. Because of

the large amount of time spent with her students, teachers must also be a caregiver in their

classroom. This means providing physical, emotional, and intellectual support for students in

various capacities.
