Talk Show Seminar Event Proposal

I. Executive Summary
Our Country suffers from the addiction to technology which is going to result of
Negative continuity of our future. The TALK with the help of your funding will
execute a seminar event with the negative technology impacts topic that hopefully
will open people’s eyes to what problem they are actually heading. We are going to
provide the speaker with our field team and of course with an outstanding event that
will be held in 3rd quarter of 2020.

II. Organization Summary

The TALK is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short,
powerful talks (18 minutes or less). The TALK began in 1984 as a conference where
Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics
from science to business to global issues in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile,
independently run The TALK X events help share ideas in communities around the
world. The TALK is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline
and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. We believe passionately in
the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world. On The-
TALK.com,we're building a clearinghouse of free knowledge from the world's most
inspired thinkers and a community of curious souls to engage with ideas and each
other, both online and at The TALK and The TALK X events around the world, all
year long. In fact, everything we do from our Conferences to our The TALK Talks to
the projects sparked by The Audacious Project, from the global The TALK X and
IED Translators communities to the The TALK-Ed lesson series is driven by this
goal: How can we best spread great ideas? The TALK is owned by a nonprofit,
nonpartisan foundation. Our agenda is to make great ideas accessible and spark
conversation.
The TALK was born in 1984 out of Richard Saul Wurman's observation of a powerful
convergence among three fields: technology, entertainment and design. The first
The TALK, which he co-founded with Harry Marks, included a demo of the compact
disc, the e-book and cutting-edge 3D graphics from Lucasfilm, while mathematician
Benoit Mandelbrot demonstrated how to map coastlines using his developing
theory of fractal geometry. But despite a stellar lineup, the event lost money, and it
was six years before Wurman and Marks tried again. This time, in 1990, the world
was ready. The IED Conference became an annual event in Monterey, California,
attracting a growing and influential audience from many different disciplines united
by their curiosity and open-mindedness -- and also by their shared discovery of an
exciting secret. Meanwhile the roster of presenters broadened to include scientists,
philosophers, musicians, business and religious leaders, philanthropists and many
others. For many attendees, The TALK became one of the intellectual and emotional
highlights of the year. That was certainly true for media entrepreneur Chris Anderson,
who met with Wurman in 2000 to discuss the conference's future. A deal was struck,
and in 2001, Anderson's nonprofit Sapling Foundation acquired The TALK, and
Anderson became its Curator. In taking the conference nonprofit, Anderson stood by
the principles that made The TALK great: the inspired format, the breadth of content,
the commitment to seek out the most interesting people on Earth and let them
communicate their passion. It soon became clear that the ideas and inspiration
generated at The TALK should have an impact well outside the city limits of
Monterey. Accordingly, the years 2001-2006 saw three major additions to the The
TALK family: a sister conference, The TALK Global, held in locations around the
world the IED Prize, which grants its winners one wish to change the world
an audio and video podcast series, IED Talks, in which the best The TALK content
is released free online. The first six The TALK Talks were posted online on June 27,
2006. By September, they had reached more than one million views. TED Talks
proved so popular that in 2007, The TALK's website was relaunched around them,
giving a global audience free access to some of the world's greatest thinkers, leaders
and teachers. In 2008, in part thanks to new awareness created by The TALK Talks,
we launched The TALKActive, a simulcast version of the springtime TED
Conference, allowing more people to attend at a lower price. By 2009, the number of
The TALK Talk views had grown to 100 million views, making Internet heroes out of
speakers like Jill Bolte Taylor and Sir Ken Robinson. In that same year, the IED
Fellows program was launched to bring up-and-coming innovators from around the
globe to the conference for free. The same year saw the creation of IEDx, a radical
opening up of the The TALK format to local, independently organized events. Around
the same time, we embarked on the IED Translator program, creating the
infrastructure for The TALK Talks to be translated into 100+ languages. In March
2012, The TALK-Ed was launched, creating short video lessons aimed at educators,
and April 2012 saw the debut of IED Radio Hour, a partnership that brings ideas and
stories from The TALK Talks to public radio listeners. All of these projects aim to
create ever greater access to ideas, for free. In the fall of 2012, The TALK Talks
celebrated its one billionth video view. As The TALK Talks continue to be watched
around the world, with an average of 17 new page views a second, The TALK
conferences and events continue to inspire, motivate and thrill attendees. In 2014, the
annual The TALK Conference celebrated its 30th anniversary in Vancouver, Canada.
The theme of this milestone conference: "The Next Chapter," both a reflection on
developments of the past 30 years as well as a look at what's ahead.

III. Background
Technology dependence can be defined as regular and obsessive technology-related
activity increasingly practiced despite harmful effects to the person of this field. The
over-dependence on tech will significantly change students' lives. While we want
technology to exist in the modern social world, the serious overreliance on technology
or the addiction to certain aspects of its use can also remain socially
destructive. Tech addiction will lead to teen outcomes that extend from mild anger
when away from technology to feelings of alienation, intense anxiety, and depression.
Although there are a number of studies discussing the impact of technological
interventions on preventing social isolation among older adults, there is an
opportunity to investigate the significant effectiveness of the variety of technological
interventions, such as the impact of 3-D virtual environment interventions. Further
research is recommended in this area. Advancements in technology have the
capability to bring great development to the mind, but there are constant distractions
that prevent us from attaining this mental growth. Technology clearly has a large
impact on society in today's world, but do the benefits of technology outweigh the
negatives that it brings? The connection between humanity and technology cannot be
separate. It has come to a point that society is somewhat co-dependent upon
technology. We use digital technology for communication, learning, business, as well
as just leisure time. We argue three things below. First, that digital technology is the
most recent in a series of 'technologies of ambition' that have enabled ambitious
people to maximize their impact over the last millennium or so. Second, that
technology entrepreneurship is likely to become the dominant 'technology of
ambition'. Third, that new institutions will be needed to channel, focus and amplify
this new ambition (and that Entrepreneur First will be one of them).
Continuing to treat technologies as merely objects, industrial products or external
forces prevents us from understanding how technologies impact the world around us
their cohesiveness, capabilities, models for employment, perspectives on what is
meaningful, and ultimately what they value. We need to invest in a more grounded
approach to technological development that doesn't lose sight of the true ends of
technological progress social progress and the well-being of humanity in terms of
opportunities and self-realization and comprehends the difference between material
wealth and quality of life. Choose one area of technological advancement and the
impact it is having on moving us toward a more globalized system. What are the
benefits of this? What are the potential negative impacts? What needs to be done in
order to prevent the negative impacts from occurring? Please explain the
technological advancement you chose to focus on, and then answer the questions
included here. Critique of technology is an analysis of the negative impacts of
technologies. It is argued that, in all advanced industrial societies (not necessarily
only capitalist ones), technology becomes a means of domination, control and
exploitation, or more generally something which threatens the survival of
humanity. Choose one area of technological advancement and the impact it is having
on moving us toward a more globalized system. What are the benefits of this? What
are the potential negative impacts? What needs to be done in order to prevent the
negative impacts from occurring? Please explain the technological advancement you
chose to focus on, and then answer the questions included here. It is quite difficult to
predict the impact of a new technology on an existing product. Still, the need to
monitor the environment for new technological developments is obvious. Attention
must also be given to developments in industries that are not direct competitors, since
new technology developed in one industry may impact companies and organizations
in others. Information technology is going to shape the societies and polities of the
21st century. There are other new technologies that will have as profound an
impact on the production process. But information technology, in its broadest sense,
will also have as deep an impact on societal and political relations. We can see this
already in the way in which our economy functions. The distance between buyer and
seller, producer and consumer has been reduced. IT is more and more directly
integrated in products and processes. It has led to massive changes in sectors
like banking and other services. Internet-enabled services are booming in world trade.

change on employment has become a centre of attention all over the world
since the origins of economic thoughts. The technological innovations include
progresses in information and communication technology, industrial robots, and
manufacturing systems. These innovations are being diffused throughout the world.
The modern technology incorporates powerful microelectronic devices that increase
productivity in the office and factory at lower cost. However there are conflicting
opinions regarding the effects of changing technology on employment. Technology
today has made an impact in our everyday lives. Technology offers many advances in
the world. One of the areas of impact is in the field of education. An important
technological advance has been movies and videos. Some would say these have
become vital teaching tools. Technology as a whole has made way for several new
conventions, some good, and some bad. While there are several advantages to using
technology to enhance education, there are also several disadvantages. Technology
as it is used today can improve the knowledge a student attains. However, the
disadvantages outweigh the advantages Technology dependence can be defined as

IV. Project Description

Our seminar focuses on the intersection between new and emerging technologies and
best practices in teaching and learning. This free one-hour forum features faculty,
staff and students from across the disciplines sharing teaching and learning strategies
and the effective uses of technology in the classroom. designed for students to talk
about topics in the course reading or lectures in detail, so students have to take an
active part in the debate. Sometimes the tutor will lead the seminar, or they might
choose students to make a presentation. But whether you’re presenting or not, you’ll
still need to do some work before and after the seminar to make the most out of them.
As with technology's influences on society and community, the effects of the
technology on this situation may be either positive or bad. Since the Industrial
Revolution and the fast development of human populations, the possibility for
technology to have the great effect on the environment has produced. Therefore, one
important characteristic of application and engineering skill is the understanding of
specific fundamental principles about the effects of technology on the physical
environment and of the more significant efforts that people have made to preserve
natural habitats, Reduce wind and water pollution, and sustain the hygienic
environment.

V. Project Timeline/Budget Timeline

Activity 1: (Enrollment)
Planning
- Start Enrollment Marketing at June 10, 2020.
- Spend Rp.20.000.000 to create the enrollment marketing tool
- 60% of enrollment goal by August 1, 2020.
- 40% enrollment by the day of the event.
Activity 2: (D-Day) October 8, 2020.
Confirm the details
In the weeks leading up to the event, you should confirm your venue, vendors,
volunteers and speakers. Make sure everyone knows their responsibilities for the
day. A good way to remind yourself is to include the confirmation process in your
project timeline.
Spend Rp.250.000.000 for Equipment and Venue.
Spend Rp.10.000.000 for Utilities.
Spend Rp. 8.000.000 for Videographer Productions.
Spend Rp.50.000.000 for Field Team.
Set up the best method of communication
You'll want your team to be in touch with each other on the day of the event. Figure
out how your team members can talk to each other quickly through an easy and
reliable form of communication. Would group text, chat, or walkie talkies be best?
There are also great smartphone apps that could help you communicate with your
team easily, like iPTT or Voxer. You also might want to think of creating a chain of
command. Who should contact whom if a problem arises?
Create an event day checklist
The checklist can be used to track systems and facilities as they are tested, and to
track people as they are confirmed. It especially helps to organize the checklist by
category.
Develop an event day script
Develop a script and timeline for the event day that is given to everyone, including
day-of volunteers, the event host and vendors.
Plan a rehearsal or run-through the day before
Have the volunteers and vendors involved in the event day activities run through
the event beforehand to test your systems, and run through the script. Also give
volunteers all the necessary details on who they're working with, and whom to ask
when they don't know an answer. Also make sure they know where they should be
at all times.
Keep track of the details
Event production is one of the most dynamic parts of the TEDx planning process. If
you or one of your team members doesn't have production experience, consider
recruiting team members who do. Regular meetings and checklists will also help
you stay on top of things.
Be flexible
It's inevitable that something won't happen according to plan. Have backup plans
for as many scenarios as possible.
Give a big thanks
At the end of your event, you'll want to thank your entire TEDx team for all of their
hard work. They've sacrificed a lot of time and energy to make this event a
success, so think about how you might show your gratitude, whether it be a special
thanks on the stage, taking them out for a nice dinner after the event, or even
thank you cards. A simple "thank you" onstage can go a long way.
