Thanks for using the IELTS Study

Guide brought to you by

As a supplement to your review needs, this CD comes with references regarding each IELTS Test
– Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, along with Practice Tests that you can use at home
or at work.

Recommendations:

 It is suggested that you print out a copy of these Practice Tests and Answer Sheets, since
the actual test will make use of printed test materials.
 Use a pencil in answering the practice tests. You are only allowed to use a pencil during
the real test.
 With the help of a timer, practice finishing the tests within the prescribed time period
for each test.
o Listening – 30 minutes + 10 minutes to transfer answers to answer sheet
o Reading – 60 minutes
o Writing – 60 minutes
 Task 1 – 20 minutes
 Task 2 – 40 minutes
 In checking your answers, strictly follow the Answer Keys provided for Listening and
Reading to properly gauge your performance.
 The sample speaking questions may be similar to the actual interview, however, it is not
advisable to memorize your answers. The examiners are trained to be able to identify
applicants using formulated answers.
 Model or sample answers are provided to give you an idea on what a good write-up
looks like, nevertheless, you can have your own way of composing your essay, report or
letter to appropriately address the situation or question, that still adheres to the
recommended writing style and structure.
 Attending classroom lectures could also help a lot in your review for the IELTS Test. Our
teachers and coaches have had years of training and experience in teaching English and
IELTS classes.
