INTRODUCTION.
The most important and crucial period of time in
the life of every human being is the period of
his/her youth. Because it is at this stage of life
when a person begins to make decisions concerning
his/her destiny, consciously or unconsciously. The
way you behave in your youth is a picture of how
you will live in your old age. Being a youth is just
for a certain period of time, there's no one who
will be a youth forever, there's time for everything,
time to be born, time to be a youth, time to grow
old and time to die.

Dear youth I want you to know that you are not on

planet Earth to live forever, one day you and I will
die. This tells us that we are here on earth for a
mission, life is a mission/race.

The question is: Are you going to fulfill your

mission/purpose? Or are you going to run till you
get to the finishing line? Do you know the purpose
of God for your life? Are living according to the
purpose of God?

3
Being an outstanding youth is not a complicated
matter it is a simple thing, it is simply knowing and
pursuing the purpose of God for your life, till you
fulfill it.

The foundation for your great destiny is laid and

built in your youth, because it is the time when you
when you can make adequate preparations. You are
an outstanding youth, finish reading this book and
your life will never be the same again.

The backbone and the stronghold of every society

is the youth. The quality of any society or nation is
determined by the kind of youths it has. Beloved
youth, not only are you a future leader but also a
present leader. Therefore, knowing this truth
demands that we live and spend time wisely
because the days are evil.

It is important to know that both the Lord Jesus

Christ and the devil have the desire to work with
the youths. The Lord Jesus Christ wants to work
with the youths because He loves them, He has
better plans for them, plans to make them great,
wise, responsible and above all give them eternal
life while the devil wants to work with the youths
4
because he doesn't not love them, he may give
them money, fame and other things but he has one
thing in his mind, and that is to take away life from
them. The devil does not come except to steal, kill
and destroy. Behind every good thing that come
from the devil there's an evil intention, that is to
kill you and destroy your glorious destiny.

The devil does not love anyone and he will not die
for anyone but he wants to die with someone, be
wise. Anything good that comes from the devil is a
bait, be wise. Take the good and right road not the
fast one.

An outstanding youth is someone who works with

the Lord Jesus Christ.

There five major qualities of every outstanding

youth. In this book I have shared all the five major
qualities.

5
THE FEAR OF THE LORD.
To be wise you must first have reverence for the
Lord. The fear of the Lord is the starting point of
wisdom.

Proverbs 9:10

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of

wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One
is understanding

But it is of great importance for us understand

what the fear of the Lord is. What is the fear of
the Lord?

Proverbs 8:13 NIV

To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate

pride and arrogance, evil behavior and
perverse speech.

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil, it also means

to depart from wickedness.

The fear of the Lord is the number one

requirement for any youth to be an outstanding one.
6
An outstanding youth is someone who hates evil.
Being a youth I have discovered that there are two
major things which are destroying the glorious
destinies of my fellow youths, the number one
thing is sexual immorality and the second one is
alcohol/drug abuse.

Sex is a gift from God which is only given to two

people, male and female who are legally married, to
enjoy within the confines of their marriage. Sex in
itself is not a sin but the abuse of it, is a sin.

Without the fear of the Lord you will be thinking

everything is good and beneficial to you, but the
truth of the matter is that not everything that
seems good is profitable to you.

In most of the relationships these days, people are

having premarital sex. Sex before marriage must
be strongly condemned. It is not about " Everybody
else is doing it " the fact that everybody else is
doing it does not mean you should also do it, what is
wrong will always be wrong, it doesn't matter the
number of people who are doing it.

7
One of the most dangerous things to your glorious
destiny, is getting advice from a person who does
not fear God " Blessed is the man Who walks not
in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the
path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the
scornful... Psalms 1:1." The counsel of a person
who does not fear God, encourages to do wrong
things, such as sexual immorality/premarital sex,
drug/alcohol abuse, stealing and others. Your
destiny is too glorious to be wasted. Do not destroy
your glorious destiny because of sex, drugs or
money.

Psalms 1:1 BBE

Happy is the man who does not go in the

company of sinners, or take his place in the
way of evil-doers, or in the seat of those
who do not give honor to the Lord.

Never spend your precious time with people who do

not fear God. Not spending time with people who do
not fear God does not mean you are despising them,
it means that you are wise enough to know that
your destiny/future is more important. Love them

8
but do NOT make friendship with them. Your
future is in your hands but can be determined by
the kind of people you associate with.

1 Corinthians 15:33

Do not be deceived: "Evil company corrupts good

habits."

No matter how good your habits are, if you are

keeping an evil company, your good habits will be
corrupted. What happens when you throw a white
cloth or a white paper on mud is what happens when
you surround yourself with people who have bad
habits. Many people are in prison some in hospitals
others are regretting of the wrong choices they
made because of the company they keep or kept.

Fear the Lord and avoid a bad company. An

outstanding youth fears the Lord and chooses
wisely who to make friendship with.

9
HUMILITY.
Humility is very important for your lifting. The
mountain top is for humble people. An outstanding
youth is humble. A humble person attracts favor
and promotion.

James 4:6

But He gives more grace. Wherefore `the

scripture' says, God resists the proud, but
gives grace to the humble.

Many youths have lost great opportunities because

of pride. Pride prevents people from receiving
favor, help and promotion. Sometimes it is not that
people do not want to help you, it is the level of
your pride which stops them from helping you. God
will always resist the proud and give more grace to
the humble. Some ladies are single not because
they are not beautiful or no one approaches them
but because of pride. Dear youth do not despise
the days of small beginnings, never despise anyone
based on his/her current condition, note that the

10
beginning is always small but the end is greater, as
long as a person is born again, fears the Lord, is
determined, focused, purpose driven it means that
such a one has a great future.

The elders or seniors do not help or honor a youth

who is proud because he/she looks down on them. A
prideful youth is a limited youth. Humble people are
great people because God keeps on giving them
grace to do and achieve great and extraordinary
things. You can never be an outstanding youth
without humility.

The greatness and the future of a youth is

determined by his/her level of humility. The
greater the level of humility the greater the
future, because the humbler you become the more
grace you receive.

Humility does not mean considering yourself

inferior to others or speaking less of yourself. It
means appreciating everyone and despising no one
because you know that every person is important.

Humility is not something you do but it is who you

are. A humble person will always be humble, even

11
when he/she has a lot of money, cars, wealth, fame,
power and glory. A person with a small mind
pretends to be humble when he/she has no money
or vulnerable but when he/she gets what he/she
wanted, his/her true character/nature will be
revealed because he/she has no reason to pretend
anymore.

An outstanding youth is not someone who pretends

to be humble but is someone who is truly humble.

1 Peter 5:6

Therefore, humble yourselves under the

mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you
in due time,

My beloved youth be humble and at the right time

God will lift you up in honor.

12
PURPOSE DRIVEN.
Where there's no purpose there is no focus,
determination, direction and motivation. Ignorance
of purpose is the cheapest way by which an
individual can destroy or waste his/her precious
life. An outstanding youth is a purpose driven youth
because he/she knows and understands his/her
purpose in life.

Acts 20:24

But none of these things move me; nor do I

count my life dear to myself, so that I may
finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I
received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the
gospel of the grace of God.

The Apostle Paul was focused and determined to

fulfill his purpose.

Living long is very good and important but the truth

is that the quality of the life of an individual is not
necessarily determined by the number of years
he/she has lived but by the fulfillment of his/her
God given purpose. Life is a race, getting to the
13
finishing line is fulfilling the purpose.
Unfortunately, some people die without getting to
the finishing line.

1 Corinthians 9:24 NIV

Do you not know that in a race all the

runners run, but only one gets the prize?
Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Nothing gives you energy, focus and determination

to run towards the finishing line than purpose.

My father told me " My son not everyone who has

appeared on planet Earth will be successful."
Everyone is running but it is very important to note
that it is only the purpose driven people who are
running towards the finishing line, the rest are
going the wrong direction.

A purpose driven person does not spend time with

idle people. Many youths involve themselves in
wrong things like drug/alcohol abuse, sexual
immorality and others because they haven't
discovered or understood their purpose.

14
Pressures and challenges of life are not the
reasons for drug abuse, it is the lack of ignorance
of purpose. A purpose driven youth cannot involve
himself/herself in drug abuse. A drug addict has no
time to plan his/her future. Alcohol or drug abuse
retards your thinking. An outstanding youth is
purpose driven hence does not involve
himself/herself in drug abuse or sexual immorality.

DILIGENCE

A purpose driven youth is diligent because he/she

drives energy from his/her purpose. But before I
go any further I think it will be very helpful and
important for us to differentiate diligent people
from hardworking people. Both diligent people and
hardworking people work very hard but diligent
people have strategy while hardworking people have
no strategy. Diligent people have a clear definition
and understanding of purpose while hardworking
people have little or no understanding of purpose.
Diligence is working smart or working hard in a
right direction because you have a clear definition
and understanding of purpose while hardworking is
putting in all your energy, particularly aiming at

15
nothing. This is why hard work alone is not equal to
output. It is very possible for a person to work
very hard and get little or no results. Working hard
without a clear definition and understanding of
purpose is like chasing the wind.

Note that you can never be purpose driven and be

lazy at the same time, because the knowledge of
your purpose will move to work. A lazy youth can
never be an outstanding youth, because he/she is
too relaxed and comfortable to move forward.
Beware of laziness, a great man of God said " Life
does not take excuses or celebrate emptiness." A
lazy person will always have an excuse to give in
order to avoid taking responsibility.

Your future is very bright, be purpose driven. You

are an outstanding youth.

16
STUDIOUS
An outstanding youth spends enough time reading
and studying, because he/she understands the
power of reading and studying.

The best investment you can ever make as an

individual is investing knowledge and wisdom in your
mind. If you refuse to invest in the mind, then any
other investments you will make shall come to
nothing. For any growth to be sustained, there
should be an investment of knowledge and wisdom
in a person’s mind. A person may have money, power,
fame, opportunities and connections but without
proper investment of knowledge and wisdom in
his/her mind, he/she will come to nothing.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a

workman that needeth not to be ashamed,
rightly dividing the word of truth.

17
God expects you to read, this is why He lead the
Prophets and apostles to write books. The answers
to your questions are not in the mountain but in the
book " It is the glory of God to conceal the
matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a
matter... Proverbs 25:2." A studious youth does
not belong to the class of ordinary people but to
the class of kings because he/she is able to search
out a matter which has been concealed.

Youths who are poor readers have high chances of

becoming poor leaders. Those who do not read
cannot lead.

2 Timothy 4:13 NLT

When you come, be sure to bring the coat I left

with Carpus at Troas. Also bring my books, and
especially my papers

One of the things which made the apostle Paul

become an outstanding apostle, was his love for
books.

You can never become an outstanding youth if you

have no love and time for books. An outstanding
youth will always make sure he/she has a notebook

18
he/she will use to take notes whenever he/she is
going to church. An outstanding youth has a very
good relationship with books and papers.

Be a reader of RIGHT materials or books. There

some books which can mislead you or waste your
precious time, choose wisely what to read and
study. The quality of the books you read and study
determines the quality of your thinking.

Simple equation:

Quality of books => Quality of thinking => Quality of decisions=> Quality of life.

Congratulations you are an outstanding youth

because you have proven it by reading this book.

19
SERVING GOD.
There so many things which are done in vain but not
the service to God. An outstanding youth serves
God.

Ecclesiastes 12:1 NLT

Don't let the excitement of youth cause you to

forget your Creator. Honor him in your youth
before you grow old and no longer enjoy living.

Having fun is good and healthy but do not let it

cause you to forget God. Being a youth does not
mean party after party or just having fun without
serving God. The fact that you are a youth does
not mean that you have a lot of time. Do not let the
excitement of your youth cause you to forget
serving and fearing God " Do not copy the
behavior and customs of this world, but let God
transform you into a new person by changing the
way you think. Then you will learn to know God's
will for you, which is good and pleasing and
perfect... Romans 12:2 NLT." The world has its
own standards and God has His own standards. The
standards you live by is a reflection of where you

20
belong, those who belong to the world live
according to the standards of the world and those
who belong to God must live by the standards of
God.

According to the standards of God, a youth must

be effective in serving Him.

1 Timothy 4:12

Let no one despise your youth, but be an

example to the believers in word, in conduct,
in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity

Those who truly serve God in their youth become

great and responsible people in future. The time to
be effective in serving God, is not just when you
grow old but while you are still a youth.

John 9:4

I must work the works of Him who sent Me

while it is day; the night is coming when no
one can work.

21
If you are not serving God in your youth, I want
you to know that when you grow old you will regret
and remember the time you are wasting now.

Please note that the devil does not want you to

serve God, he will always bring things to stop you
from serving God. Never listen to a person who
discourages you from serving God.

Do not let the world deceive you to think that

serving God means you are old-fashioned or have
nothing to do. Serving God means you are wise,
intelligent, responsible and destined for greatness.
Those who truly serve God do not lose value.

Generations come and go but the word of God

endures forever. Those who serve God are not old-
fashioned because the word of God does not lose
value, it endures forever.

Your service to God is not in vain.

22
1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm.

Let nothing move you. Always give
yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,
because you know that your labor in the
Lord is not in vain.

Serve God while you are still a youth, use your gifts
and talents to serve God. You are an outstanding
youth.

23
CONCLUSION.
Not every youth is an outstanding youth, it is only
those who have the five qualities we have talked
about in this outstanding book for an outstanding
youth. An outstanding youth is God fearing, humble,
purpose driven, studious and serves the Lord.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your

might.

1 Timothy 4:12

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you

are a youth (young), but set an example for the
believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith
and in purity.

May God give you the grace to manifest all of the

five qualities discussed in this book.
