Introduction
This technical guide will provide instructions on how to setup the ZM201 for a Checkweighing
Application and enable the setpoint outputs to indicate when a product is in the under, accept or
over weight range.

General Check Off On

Procedure
1. Press and hold F1 until PASS is displayed…release F1 > 0 is displayed
2. Use numeric entry method to enter 3 0 8 8 and press ZERO > BUSY > SETUP is displayed
3. Press SELECT > CALIB is displayed
4. Press UNITS twice > SYSTEM is displayed
5. Press SELECT > SITE is displayed
6. Press UNITS until APP is displayed
7. Press SELECT > the current application is displayed
8. Press UNITS until CHECK is displayed
9. Press ZERO to select checkweigh application > APP is displayed
10. Press TARE > SYSTEM is displayed
11. Press UNITS until OUTPUT is displayed
12. Press SELECT > OUT 1 is displayed
13. Press SELECT > current setting is displayed
14. Press UNITS if necessary to display ON
15. Press ZERO to enable out 1 > OUT 1 is displayed
16. Press UNITS > OUT 2 is displayed
17. Repeat steps 14 thru 16 to enable out 2 and out 3
18. When all outputs are enabled on press TARE until SAVENO is displayed
19. Press UNITS > SAVEYES is displayed
20. Press ZERO > BUSY is displayed and the indicator will reboot and return to normal
operation

Target setting methods


There are two ways to set the target weight:
SAMPLE The TARGET range will be the actual weight of the sample ± a predefined
range (default is ±1 division) that can be set in the SUPER menu described
below
LIMIT The ACCEPT range will be the weight between the LO and HI limit entries

SAMPLE method (sample item on scale)


1. With the scale at Zero, place a sample item on the scale and press F1
The TARGET range will be the weight of the sample minus the UNDRDIV and plus the
OVERDIV values established in the SUPER > CHECK menu

LIMIT method (no weight on scale)


1. When the scale is at 0 (below Gross Zero Band), press F1 > BUSY > LO is displayed
2. Use numeric entry method to enter the LO ACCEPT weight
3. Press ZERO > BUSY > HI is displayed
4. Use numeric entry method to enter in HI ACCEPT weight
5. Press ZERO > display returns to weighing mode
The ACCEPT range will be any weight between the LO and HI values

The following configuration instructions are only required if using the SAMPLE method to
set the TARGET weight value.
1. Press and hold F1 until PASS is displayed…release F1 > 0 is displayed
2. Use numeric entry method to enter 1 7 9 3 and press ZERO > BUSY > SUPER is displayed
3. SELECT > SETPNT is displayed
4. Press UNITS > CHECK is displayed
5. Press SELECT > UNDRDIV is displayed
6. Press SELECT > current setting is displayed
7. Use numeric entry method to enter divisions below the Sample weight that is within the
Target window

8. Press ZERO to store > UNDRDIV is displayed


9. Press UNITS > OVERDIV is displayed
10. Use numeric entry method to enter divisions above the Sample weight that is within the
Target window
11. Press ZERO to store > OVERDIV is displayed
12. Press F1 (or TARE) three times to return to normal weighing operation

Checkweigh Setpoint operation


1. After the Target or Accept range has been defined place a sample on the scale
2. Bar Graph operation
a. Sample is below Accept or Target range > Under bar graph segments will light
b. Sample is inside Accept or Target range > Accept bar graph segment will light
c. Sample is above Accept or Target range > Over bar graph segments will light

d. The Under and Over segments are fixed at 1 division per segment
3. Setpoint Annunciators and Outputs
a. Inside the Gross Zero Band > All annunciators and outputs are off
b. Sample is below Accept or Target range > SP1 annunciator and Output 1 are on
c. Sample is inside Accept or Target range > SP2 annunciator and Output 2 are on
d. Sample is above Accept or Target range > SP3 annunciator and Output 3 are on
The Setpoint annunciators and outputs are LATCHED. This means that the sample
weight has to stabilize before the annunciator and output for the appropriate condition
(Under,
Accept or Over) are activated.

Once activated the annunciator and output will remain unchanged until the item is
removed and the gross weight returns to inside the gross zero band.

Additional Notes:
• Checkweighing is based on Net weight values. Tare can be used
• Out1, Out2, Out3 Setpoint entry values are NOT used in Checkweigh application
