Quick Start Guide T21P Indicator

ASSEMBLY
MOUNTING THE COLUMN BRACKET
The Indicator can be mounted to a 38mm scale
column (outside diameter) with the supplied
column bracket.
1. Route the cable through the column and
the column bracket.
2. Slide the column bracket down onto the
column and tighten the nut.
3. Solder the load cell cable to the supplied
load cell cable connector. (See Section
1.8.)
4. Slide the indicator onto the bracket as
shown below.

5. Plug the load cell cable into the Indicator’s load cell connector.
6. Remove the upper knob if necessary to change the viewing angle. Then re-install the
knob to fix the position.
LOAD CELL CONNECTION
Connect the load cell cable to the supplied load 5 4 3 2 1
cell cable connector.

NOTE: To use a 4-wire load cell cable, short
pins 2 to 8, and pins 6 to 7.

CAUTION:
Never connect a communication cable to the load cell connector of the Indicator.
Switch the indicator off when you insert or remove the load cell cable connector
from the Indicator.

NOTE: Connect the load cell cable connector to the load cell cable after routing the cable
through the column and column bracket. (The load cell cable connector cannot pass through
the supplied column bracket.)

OPERATION
To turn the Indicator on, toggle the switch on the right side to ON.
The indicator performs a display test, momentarily displays software
version, and then enters the active weighing mode.
To turn power off, toggle the switch to OFF.
Zero is set under the following conditions:
• Automatically at Power On (initial zero).

• Manually by pressing ZERO. (Scale must be stable and within the zero range.)
Manual Tare:
Place a container on the weighing pan and press TARE.
The display shows a net value of “0”.
To clear the Tare value, press TARE with the pan empty.
Weighing: Use this mode to measure the weight of a sample in the selected unit of measure.
1. Press ZERO to set the display to zero.
2. Put an empty container on the pan, and then press TARE to tare the container weight.
3. Add material to the container.
The display shows the weight of the material in the selected unit of measure.
Verify the indicator: place a known mass on the scale and check if the reading is accurate.
If not, calibrate, using the Calibration Guide.

ADDITIONAL OPERATIONS
Changing Units of Measure: Only one unit of measure can be active
at a time (kg or lb).
To select the active unit press and hold SET for three seconds.
Press  repeatedly until F1-3 appears. Choose “0” for kg, “1” for lb.

(If selecting “lb”, place the supplied “lb” label over “kg” on the overlay.)

Application Modes: Press and hold PRINTMode to toggle between


Weighing and Counting modes. WEIGH is the default mode.
The Pcs LED illuminates to indicate Counting mode.
To calculate Average Piece Weight, press SAMPLE APW.
[p00010] or the last used value is displayed. Press , ,  to edit
sample size. Place displayed quantity of samples on scale or in tared
container.
Press SAMPLE to calculate Average Piece Weight (APW).
Scale enters Counting mode.
Press Zero or Sample to exit to Weighing mode.

MENU NAVIGATION
Press and hold the SET button for three seconds.
SET-Fx will be displayed where x =:
0 = Set upper and lower limit value. 2 = Restores settings to factory default.
1 = User Settings Menu. 3 = Set tare capacity between 2/3Max. and full scale.
To navigate in the Menu Mode:
Press  to toggle through available settings.
Press ENTER to accept the displayed setting and advance to the next step.
Press SET at any time to save settings and return to weighing.
