FUEL USAGE GUIDE:
This table shows the derate f actor and f ull load set point timing required f or a giv en f uel. Note that deration and set point timing adjustment may be required as the methane
number decreases. Methane number is a scale to measure detonation characteristics of v arious f uels. The methane number of a f uel is determined by using the Caterpillar
methane number calculation.
The Fuel Lower Heating Value (LHV) table shows the derate f actor required f or a giv en fuel. To determine the actual power av ailable, use the lowest f actor between the Fuel
LHV table and the Caterpillar Methane Number table.

ALTITUDE DERATION FACTORS:

This table shows the deration required f or v arious air inlet temperatures and altitudes. Use this inf ormation along with the f uel usage guide chart to help determine actual
engine power f or y our site. The derate f actors shown do not take into account external cooling sy stem capacity . The derate f actors prov ided assume the external cooling
sy stem can maintain the specif ied cooling water temperatures, at site conditions.

ACTUAL ENGINE RATING:

To determine the actual rating of the engine at site conditions, one must consider separately , limitations due to f uel characteristics and air sy stem limitations. The Fuel
Usage Guide deration establishes f uel limitations. The Altitude/Temperature deration f actors and RPC (ref erence the Caterpillar Methane Program) establish air sy stem
limitations. RPC comes into play when the Altitude/Temperature deration is less than 1.0 (100%). Under this condition, add the two f actors together. When the site conditions
do not require an Altitude/Temperature derate (f actor is 1.0), it is assumed the turbocharger has suf f icient capability to ov ercome the low f uel relativ e power, and RPC is
ignored. To determine the actual power av ailable, take the lowest rating between 1) and 2).
1) Fuel Usage Guide Deration
2) 1-((1-Altitude/Temperature Deration) + (1-RPC))

AFTERCOOLER HEAT REJECTION FACTORS(ACHRF):

To maintain a constant air inlet manif old temperature, as the inlet air temperature goes up, so must the heat rejection. As altitude increases, the turbocharger must work harder
to ov ercome the lower atmospheric pressure. This increases the amount of heat that must be remov ed f rom the inlet air by the af tercooler. Use the af tercooler heat rejection
f actor (ACHRF) to adjust f or inlet air temp and altitude conditions. See notes 26 and 27 f or application of this f actor in calculating the heat exchanger sizing criteria. Failure to
properly account f or these f actors could result in detonation and cause the engine to shutdown or f ail.

MINIMUM SPEED CAPABILITY AT THE RATED SPEED'S SITE TORQUE (RPM):

This table shows the minimum allowable engine turndown speed where the engine will maintain the Rated Speed’s Torque f or the giv en ambient conditions.

NOTES:
1. Fuel pressure range specif ied is to the engine gas shutof f v alv e (GSOV). Additional f uel train components should be considered in pressure and f low calculations.
2. Engine rating is with two engine driv en water pumps. Tolerance is ± 3% of f ull load.
3. ISO 3046/1 engine ef f iciency tolerance is (+)0, (-)5% of f ull load % ef f iciency v alue. Nominal engine ef f iciency tolerance is ± 2.5% of f ull load % ef f iciency v alue.
4. ISO 3046/1 f uel consumption tolerance is (+)5, (-)0% of f ull load data. Nominal f uel consumption tolerance is ± 2.5% of f ull load data.
5. Air f low v alue is on a 'wet' basis. Flow is a nominal v alue with a tolerance of ± 5 %.

7. Inlet manif old pressure is a nominal v alue with a tolerance of ± 5 %.
8. Inlet manif old temperature is a nominal v alue with a tolerance of ± 9°F.
9. Timing indicated is f or use with the minimum f uel methane number specif ied. Consult the appropriate f uel usage guide f or timing at other methane numbers.
10. Exhaust temperature is a nominal v alue with a tolerance of (+)63°F, (-)54°F.
11. Exhaust f low v alue is on a 'wet' basis. Flow is a nominal v alue with a tolerance of ± 6 %.

25. Pump power includes engine driv en jacket water and af tercooler water pumps. Engine brake power includes ef f ects of pump power.
26. Total Jacket Water Circuit heat rejection is calculated as: (JW x 1.1) + (1AC x 1.05) + [0.99 x (1AC + 2AC) x (ACHRF - 1) x 1.05]. Heat exchanger sizing criterion is
maximum circuit heat rejection at site conditions, with applied tolerances. A cooling sy stem saf ety f actor may be multiplied by the total circuit heat rejection to prov ide
additional margin.
27. Total Second Stage Af tercooler Circuit heat rejection is calculated as: (OC x 1.2) + (2AC x 1.05) + [(1AC + 2AC) x 0.01 x (ACHRF - 1) x 1.05]. Heat exchanger sizing
criterion is maximum circuit heat rejection at site conditions, with applied tolerances. A cooling sy stem saf ety f actor may be multiplied by the total circuit heat rejection to
prov ide additional margin.

Sound Power Lev el Data - DM8702-03

Sound power is def ined as the total sound energy emanating f rom a source irrespectiv e of direction or distance. Sound power lev el data is presented
under two index headings:
Sound power lev el -- Mechanical
Sound power lev el -- Exhaust

Mechanical: Sound power lev el data is calculated in accordance with ISO 3747. The data is recorded with the exhaust sound source isolated.

Exhaust: Sound power lev el data is calculated in accordance with ISO 6798 Annex A. Exhaust data is post-cataly st on gas engine ratings labeled as
"Integrated Cataly st".

Measurements made in accordance with ISO 3747 and ISO 6798 f or mechanical and exhaust sound lev el only . Frequency bands outside the display ed ranges are not measured,
due to phy sical test, and env ironmental conditions that af f ect the accuracy of the measurement. No cooling sy stem noise is included unless specif ically indicated. Sound
lev el data is indicativ e of noise lev els recorded on one engine sample in a surv ey grade 3 env ironment.

How an engine is packaged, installed and the site acoustical env ironment will af f ect the site specif ic sound lev els. For site specif ic sound lev el guarantees, sound data
collection needs to be done on-site or under similar conditions.
