1 INTRODUCTION
This instrument is intended for general use, but its features are especially appropriate for usage in
clinical laboratories.
Despite the large number and the complexity of tasks that it is capable of performing, its operation is
extraordinarily simple through the menu system and the underlying logic of its interface, so that an
easy-to-assimilate dialogue is established between the user and the instrument.
Besides great reliability in the optics, this instrument offers versatility in the measurement devices:
flow micro-cuvette, common cuvettes or micro-cuvettes, and tubes. The cuvettes are thermo
regulated in a rapid and precise manner by means of the Peltier system, without requiring
connections for circulating water.
Its sophisticated software allows the programming of up to 235 different records with required
parameters that define a set test. It can store data of up to 200 distinct tests. On the other hand,
programming is simple and is facilitated by the existence of commands for “copy” and “move”.
Besides the tests, many other functions of the instrument can be programmed, such as: laboratory
name, new filters, wash mode, contents of the print header, communications, etc.

2 UNPACKING AND INSTALLATION
This equipment is a precision instrument, so it is necessary to exercise special care in its
installation and positioning.
It is very important to connect the instrument to a good electrical system. It should be as
exclusive as possible, and it is absolutely imperative for it to have an earth connection.
2.1 UNPACKING
On receiving the instrument, check that the packing is in perfect condition and the seals are
intact. Open the box and take out its contents with care. Read this chapter carefully before installing
the instrument. Do not throw the packing material away. In case of re-shipment, use it again to
guarantee good transport.
The set of items that the user will find on unpacking the box
◙ RD-50 - Instrument:
• Plastic Cuvette 5 Pcs.
• Power Cord 1 Pc.
• Dust Cover 1 Pc.
• Waste Bottle 1 Pc.
• Waste Bottle Stand 1 Pc.
• Printer Rolls (1x2) 2 Pcs.
• Fuses 2 Pcs.
• Operating Manual CD 1 Pc
The Constituent parts of the instrument are identified and numbered as below and the associated
lists.

2.4 INSTALLATION
In order to ensure an optimal instrument operation, follow the instructions given in this
chapter to install the instrument.
2.4.1 LOCATION
The instrument must be situated in a dry and non-corrosive environment. In addition, it must
not be near a source of electro-magnetic radiation (such as motors, centrifuges, etc.) or a source of
heat, nor directly receive intense lamp or sunlight.
It must be located on a flat and spacious surface, taking care that no object obstructs the
outlet of air from the fan. Keep a distance/gap of at least 15 cm to the nearest wall.
The waste bottle must be placed on the same level or lower than the instrument.
a) Open the paper access cover by pulling the lever and put a paper roll (13) in its loading,
ensuring that the thermo-sensible face of the paper is facing to the bottom of the lodging.
b) Close the top cover just by pressing it from the top.
6|Page 6
2.5.2 CHECKING THE SUPPLY VOLTAGE
This instrument is designed to work at the following voltages: 220 V AC (Range 90- 270 VAC / 50
Hz)
ATTENTION
Working beyond the range limits will cause the Instrument to function incorrectly
and the instrument may be damaged.
Once the voltage selected in the apparatus corresponds to that of the electrical supply, proceed as
follows:
a) Remove the label covering the power socket
b) Check that the switch is in the off (0) position.
c) Connect the power cable, first to the apparatus, then to the electrical supply.
d) Put the switch in the on (1) position.
2.6 RE-SHIPMENT
If it is necessary to re-ship the instrument for any reason, or to make a move involving the use
of any transport vehicle, it is important to use the original packing to ensure that the Instrument does
not suffer any damage. .

NOTE: The above three screens are common to differential endpoint test as well. If the
absorbance value of the blank is above 0.000 then it is stored in the memory and
if the value is 0.000 then the instrument will ask for Reagent Blank. If the factor is
already stored in the memory then the instrument will ask for sample directly
and to calibrate the test again with the standard then please PRESS FUNCTION
key.

SOP OF BIO-CHEMISTRY ANALYSER
DAILY MAINTENANCE
• In the case of clogging clean the flow cell with Sodium Hypo chloride as
per procedure given below
*Aspirate with WASH Key Hypo chloride solution (2ml NHCl + 1ml DW)
*Wait for 10 min
*Rinse the flow cell with DW completely.
(For smooth working of the instrument the above Cleaning procedure should be done
Daily.)
WEEKLY MAINTENANCE
• Clean outer body for any stain / dirt on the analyzer surfaces.
• Check PRINTER Paper roll.
• As Per work load of lab , Daily Maintenance like Clean Flow cell /
Run controls can be done twice / thrice in a week.
• Check UPS output as per specification & verify the back-up period by
Putting the mains supply OFF. Recharge the batteries after
Verification & record the time in weekly Maintenance log sheet
