New Hire Training

How to lower new-hire costs

and improve employee
retention by using custom
online training for orientation.
Cut New Hire Orientation Costs in Half
Integrating a new driver into a company can be expensive, especially
when you consider the turnover for most fleets. For those doing
traditional orientation, costs per-driver can be:
• Transportation: $300
• Hotel: $200
• Per Diem: $200
instructiontech.net • Driver pay: $300
• HR/Trainer travel costs: $700
With an online orientation and training program, you orient and train the
driver first, before they arrive for in-processing. That lets you maximize
face-to-face time for training where they need to be physically present.

A Smarter Way to Do Orientation Training

By utilizing a computer-based orientation approach, the cost to
introduce the driver to the company can be greatly reduced.

Integrated with Driver Management Systems
There are many boxes to check when adding a new driver. Your team
doesn’t want to have to learn a new system. So ITI’s training automation
platform, Sentix, integrates with your driver management system. All
training records can be on the same screen —no need for another login
and another tool to learn.

Only PRO-TREAD is “Mastery based.” Mastery based training means
the driver must correctly answer a question before going on to the
next section. Get it wrong and they must watch the lesson again. This
guarantees your company has a driver who KNOWS the right thing to do.

Use Existing Orientation and Safety Content

All those training presentations and videos you made can be customized
and added as a custom lesson. And we can modify any of our existing

Regular Training Improves CSA Scores
We looked at the industry averages for each CSA BASIC, and we looked
at the same information in our own client base. Our entire client base
scored 24 points lower on average in each BASIC. For those clients
who take 4 or more lessons per user per year — that’s just 25 minutes
of online or in-cab driver training every three months — the fleet scored
30 points lower for each BASIC. When we looked at fleets taking 6+
lessons per driver per year, they scored 34 points better on average.
