The Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland ordered that any funds deposited with the court for a case that remain unclaimed three years after the case is resolved will be considered abandoned property. The abandoned surplus funds will then be transferred to the State Comptroller as Administrator to be handled according to the Maryland Uniform Disposition of Abandoned Property Act.

ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER
IT is this 11 th day of October, 2011, by the Circuit Court for Montgomery
County, Maryland, after consultation with the Clerk of the Court, ORDERED, that funds deposited in the Court's registry pursuant to a cause of action and remaining after the disposition of that cause of action, if unclaimed, shall be, unless otherwise required by law, deemed abandoned pursuant to Section 17-307 of the Commercial Law Article upon the expiration of three years after the date of disposition of that cause of action; and it is further ORDERED, that, absent good cause shown, .abandoned surplus funds shall thereupon be delivered to the State Comptroller as Administrator for disposition in compliance with the Maryland Uniform Disposition of Abandoned Property Act.
