Dr.

Mohamed Bassam Al Darwish, General Director of Public Establishment for

Transmission and Distribution of electricity.

Dr. Darwish holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in

"automatic control" from Odessa University in Ukraine in 1992, as well as a PhD in electrical
systems from Yerevan State University in Armenia in 1999.

Dr. Darwish held several positions as he worked in the Tishreen Thermal Station Control
Section between 1992 and 1995.

He worked at the main coordination center in Public Establishment for Generation and
Transmission Establishment 1999-2011.

He also worked as head department of the operational Planning for Coordination

Directorate 2006-2011.

In addition to that, Director of Planning and International Cooperation in Public

Establishment for transmission of electricity, 2012-2013.

He also served as Director of Training, Information and Technical Institutes at the Ministry of
Electricity 2013-2014.

He was appointed as Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry of

Electricity 2014-2019.

He worked also as Director of Regulation of the Electricity and Private Investment Sector
2019.
