COURSE STRUCTURE:
Homework assignments are made on a weekly basis and they are to be turned in digitally to Canvas site. The TAs will
announce the due dates. Late HW will be accepted with 10% penalty up to two days after the due dates. They won’t be
accepted after the end of the second late day. Answer sheets along with the key parts of the assigned problems are provided
and posted to help with problem solving. Additionally, numerous example problems from and out of the textbook are
discussed in class to enhance students’ understanding of the topics covered. It is the students’ responsibility to know about the
assigned problems and the due dates. This information is made available in class. There is a total of three quizzes, two exams,
and a final exam. Quiz and exam schedules are given below, and they can’t be made up. The dates are, however, subject to
change. Quizzes are about 30-40 minutes long. Quizzes and exams are closed materials with the exception of one 8.5” by 11”
page handwritten notes, double sided. Three 8.5” by 11” pages (double sided) are allowed for the final exam.
