1. Explain in three (3) sentences why literature is considered as the story of a man? Answers: Literature allows a person to step back in time and learn about life on Earth from the ones who walked before us. We learn through the ways history has recorded, in the forms of manuscripts and through speech itself. Our history will remain within us, even though we avoid showing it; it will show on its own. 2. How did Philippine Literatures develop from ancient time to present? Answers: Before the arrival of Spaniards in our country, Philippines has a rich literature and our own alphabet called Alibata. However, during the start of Spanish occupation, they burned all forms of literature that we have. Literatures were handed down to us through the word of mouth. Philippine literature developed little by little. It started with sharing short stories in the community, to writing novels and other literary works such as Noli Me Tangere, El Filibusterismo, among others. Eventually, there has been a rise of Filipino writers during the 19th century which includes Balagtas, Lualhati Bautista, Nick Joaquin, and others. Filipinos also took interest in writing comics.
