The two main driving forces behind my scheduling have been graduating in a decent amount of time and
also figuring out what career path(s) I could take after graduation. Before starting an IDS degree, I had a
vague idea of what I wanted to do once I graduated, but I had already switched my major twice because
nothing seemed to really align with my goals. Another problem I had is that I was very intrigued by
multiple career paths and felt a bit limited as well in the other majors I had attempted to pursue. IDS has
allowed me to choose courses that not only piqued my interest, but also would allow me to gain
valuable knowledge that could help me out in multiple career paths. I have since narrowed my interests
down to UX/UI design and teaching English abroad. The UX/UI jobs are the reason I chose Computer
Science and Psychology as my two areas of focus, and Digital Media as my minor. Because I wish to
teach abroad immediately after graduation, I chose to also complete a TEFL certification along with my
degree. I plan to use my time abroad teaching to also pursue a graduate degree in Human Computer
Interaction. This will allow me more time to build up my e-portfolio and resume, while also allowing me
to explore the world.
