Sleep can be defined as the rest cycle of the body.

that are active in the main, and that respond to cues from the body itself and the
environment. Normally a person requires six to eight hours of rest for our body and
brain to function properly. But in today’s generation people tend to sleep less because
others think that sleeping for six to eight hours is a waste of time and time, itself, is
valuable for the people of the Philippines which causes sleep deprivation. Sleep
deprivation is a condition of suffering from lack of sleep. According to Health Grades
Inc. (2014) more than 10 million adults are sleep deprived in the Philippines. It is
commonly spreading, as people tend to not take it seriously since people are
dumbfounded on what lack of sleep can do to our body. It can leads to health disorders
such as obesity, diabetes and coronary heart disease.Therefore, information of this
topic must be spread among the masses to ensure that everyone will become aware
and change their lifestyle to rest up to six to eight hours for our body to become
healthier.

Sleep deprivation may not look serious at first glance, but continuously restless nights
may lead to some serious health problems such as obesity, diabetes and coronary
hearth disease.
Obesity is defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation, usually from intake of
more foods than the body can process. Lack of sleep can cause obesity because it
disrupts the hormones responsible for the appetite of the body specifically the Leptin
hormone and Ghrelin hormone. Leptin hormone is a hormone which decreases your
appetite whie Ghrelin hormones is a hormone which increases your appetite.
