Employability is having a set of skills, knowledge, understanding and personal


attributes that make a person more likely to choose and secure occupations in which they
can be satisfied and successful. In simple terms, employability is about being capable of
getting and keeping fulfilling work. Thus, this means that employment rate is greatly
associated with what the graduates have in their pocket.

This study aimed to determine the career paths of political science graduates as
well as the contributions of the political science department in the development of the
graduates . This study used a descriptive qualitative method research design utilizing
interview method. Data were gathered from Political Science Graduates of DMMMSU-
MLUC Batch 2018 and 2019, which consists of 44 and 21 graduates respectively. Results
revealed that almost half of the graduates have a work that is not related to their field
such as call center agent and sales representative. However, many of the graduates also
are working in the government sector in La Union. Consequently, the Political Science
Department helped the graduates to developed their critical thinking skills, their
communication skills and management skills, strategic skills and boost their confidence.
In addition, none of graduates of batch 2018 and 2019 have received any awards in their
workplace.
