Hello and welcome to our Posada Game which helps us remember

and rehearse the Christmas Story in a fun way

Below is a picture of the board game for reference - a printable version of the board is downloadable sep-
arately as a PDF file in both A4 and A3 sizes (If you want the A3 version but don’t have an A3 printer of
photocopier you can just send the A3 version to print on A4 - make sure ‘scale’ is not ticked and it will print
the board over two pages which can then be trimmed and pasted onto a piece of card like a cornflakes
box.)

Playing the game

You can setup this game in a variety of ways. At its most simple it can be played with the family, or with a
group of children, as an indoor game; all you need is to print the board and find a die and some counters.
The outdoor version allows the participants to ‘walk through the story - and again, it woks well with both
families and groups. Both versions allow the opportunity to talk through the events of the first Christmas.

Outdoor / large scale version

Find a suitable venue: car-park, church yard, large hall (depending on restrictions) etc.
Mark out a game route similar to the picture above that families can follow as they roll the dice and play
the game. Print out a copy of the board and the instruction sheets - laminate them so that they are weath-
erproof and then cut each page into four separate parts Place them on the route so that players know
when obstacles or bonuses mean they go backwards or forwards or miss a turn.
In order to minimise contact with resources, families can download a dice-rolling app on their phones
