When?

• All 3500 generator sets


– At installation
– Periodic check
– Anytime generator or engine is moved
• Generators with 2L4444 spherical roller bearing
– Very sensitive to misalignment

Elements of Alignment

• Engine crankshaft in line with generator shaft?


• End-play
– Is the generator shaft free to move axially?
– Is the engine crankshaft free to move axially?
• Soft feet?
