Course : Statistics for Business and Social Sciences
Level : Degree
Course Outcomes
Upon completing this course, the students should be able to:
1. Describe the fundamental concepts and tools in descriptive and inferential statistics. (C5)
2. Determine appropriate solutions and interpretations for problems in descriptive and inferential
statistics. (C4)
3. Propose the use of statistical analysis in business and social sciences. (A3)
Course Description
This course introduces the students to the basic and intermediate methods of data analysis. It
emphasizes on the use of descriptive and inferential statistics including numerical descriptive,
estimation, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, chi‐square test of independence and regression.
Student will be exposed to analysis using statistical software and interpretation of output.
