The bar graph illustrates the rate of growth in three cities during 1991 and 2011 whereas the

line graph compares the population in millions.

In 2013, there were 24 megacities in the world including three in Latin America. The most
obvious trend in the graph is that Sao Paulo was at a higher growth rate compared to México
and Buenos Aires.

Reportedly, It can be clearly seen that Sao Paulo, a brazil´s largest city know for its
unpredictable weather conditions, grew by unbelievable 21 percentage between the 1991 and
2001 and then has dropped by nearly 16 percentage in the ten years to 2011. Similarly, The
population of México followed a steep upward trajectory, from 15.8 million in 1991 to 20
million in 2011. There is a clearly defined pattern to the graph, and this can be taken to mean
that population will rose steadily, and that Mexico overcome Sao Paulo, in terms of growth
rate in the next few years.

In sharp contrast to this, Buenos Aires with a population of nearly 14% in 2001, has grown at a
much slower rate. From 1991 to 2001, its population grew by 7 percentage however, in the
next 10 years, population grew strikingly by 12,5 percentage.
