1. If you were in Jane’s position, considering that it’s very hard to land on job now a day, would
you resign? Why?
Yes, I would leave that job. I would have left when I was told by Ralph Simpson (VP of
Administration) that S&J could not afford to pay my ‘assistant manager’ position. But,
somehow Jane decided to remain working there. What the management did was unethical
and legally discriminating. It is probable that the reason why Bob, the trainee received more
pay than Jane is because of his background. S&J did this because of its close ties and for
face value to Bob’s politician father. This just show the character of the company which would
make anyone refuse to continue working there. Furthermore, not paying employees their due
salary is punishable by law. And the issue could easily be resolved if S&J interchanged Bob’s
salary to Jane’s.
It is indeed hard to land a job today, with the accumulated work experience and an ethical
hardworking attitude, I know I can get a job that is better for my career and development.

2. If you are the President of S&J, do you think your action of accommodating Bob and giving
him a higher pay than a manager will be a good move for giving preference to political patrons
to protect your interest, even to the detriment of your employees?
No, regardless of my motive, I don’t think accommodating and giving Bob a higher pay than
a manager is a good move for giving preference to political patrons. As President, I should
be knowledgeable and skilled enough to find the means to delight and involve political
patrons, like supporting their just and morally political causes and advocacies. I [should]
primarily accepted Bob as an employee-trainee for his skills, not for political or cordial
reasons and so, I would treat him as an employee working for S&J and not otherwise. If I did
pursue my inclined actions, it would cause disrespect and distrust from my employees, not
only to me as the President but also towards the company as whole. My decisions should
be more on the benefit of my employees-they are the workforce of the company, they keep
the company running towards goals. I must treat each and every employee with equal
importance.
