Howard County Human Rights Commission (HRC)
Student Commissioner, July 2020 - Present
● Appointed by Howard County Executive Calvin Ball to serve as the single student member of the
Human Rights Commission.
● The Human Rights Commission works to eradicate discrimination, increase equal
opportunity, and protect Human Rights.
● Participate in quasi-judicial hearings about violations of Human Rights Laws.
● Working with State Officials to protect community against Hate Bias Incidents.

Howard County Association of Student Councils (HCASC)


Chair, Legislative Affairs Committee, May 2018 – Present (Member since January 2016)
● Coordinate countywide lobbying efforts and created monthly reports for the organization.
● Initiated public discussion on education policy, involving elected officials and students.
● Led organization restructuring by reauthoring governing documents and served as a transitional
leader throughout the COVID-19 crisis.
● Wrote a bill to protect students’ rights to demonstrate; met with State Officials to have it proposed in
State Assembly.
● Conducted policy review on several policies including “Students Charged with Community,
Offenses”, “Student Code of Conduct”, “County Handbook”, etc.
