I don't have to tell you that I am not a technician.

In my time during my medical education  [1961 and thereafter] we had
nothing to do with CT scans and I hardly can remember ultrasounds.

Copied from the Internet

In 1967 Sir Godfrey Hounsfield invented the first CT scanner]

Short history of US]
While ultrasound is very common today, it hasn't been around for that long. In fact, it's
less than a century old and didn't become commonplace until the 1960s. The first
time ultrasound was used for clinical reasons was in 1956

What I seemed to know is that the US was perfectly well used to seeing
kidney stones and other anatomical kidney problems
In Israel it is virtually impossible to ask a patient to ask his doctor for an
US instead of a CT in these cases because this was considered as an
absolute lack of knowledge from my side.
I am happy that I made time today to look up articles as a patient of mine
maybe again refused an US and forced to do a CT.

It is such a pity that medical opinions/dogmas are ruling

the medical field today and this for sure may damage
the image of doctors. [and of course physically the patient],

NOT the fact that there are different opinions in medicine

[totally healthy!] but the "inflexibility" of physicians to

change

their opinion if this can benefit the patient.

I advise every patient who is capable of doing so to check

the Internet

for other options in case invasive/or "less healthy"

procedures are suggested if there is not a dire emergency.

Maybe the BEST OPTION  is to pray and ask Bore Olam

[who always listens to any prayer]to be spared from

medical damage

or to put your full trust in G-d who will always do

what is best for a person.

It may seem like the 2 "options" can't go together but I

am sure

that they do [we pray and we try ---
