In many countries today, women are gaining social and economic power.

This is
also true in Vietnam. For years, Vietnamese women are not allowed to go to school.
Therefore, they couldn’t find better job because of the lack of knowledge and skills.
They might be forced to work at home and in the fields. Besides, the husbands are
responsible for earning money. As the result, Vietnamese women didn’t have a high
position in society. They are controlled and dominated by men. But today, more and
more girls apply to university and college. there are many women join social activities
and be successful. Women’s salaries are becoming important to their household
budgets. According to IDO, 72% of women are in the workforce today, resulting in
Vietnam become one of the highest female employment rates in the world. The
greatest thing is that now women have more economic power, so their speech is more
valued. They become more independent and assertive. The main reason for changes is
the government has done a lot to eliminate gender inequality. Women are encouraged
to go to school to improve their competencies. Because of these encouragements,
Vietnamese women have more chance to get better job and be able to earn a living on
their own. Furthermore, life is getting expensive, so the role of women in family has
changed. Both men and women now work to contribute to the family finances.
