LPDI logo
Through the CPALMS Lesson Plan Development Initiative (LPDI), Florida educators are developing high-
quality, standards-aligned instructional resources for publication on CPALMS. This growing collection of
original lesson plans represents Florida educators’ best work. All the components of a very thorough
lesson plan can be accessed with just a few simple clicks through this page and through the iCPALMS
web apps. The lesson plans developed through the LPDI use a backward design approach that helps
teachers to think about standards-driven instruction with the end in mind. The lessons are aligned with
the instructional shifts in the math and ELA standards and offer a fresh and engaging approach to the
content. The assessment pieces are thorough and usually include a learning scale, rubric, or answer key,
and in some cases samples of student work. Each submitted lesson is reviewed by facilitators, peer
educators from across the state, and subject area experts prior to publication on CPALMS. This review
cycle provides feedback to the participants and ensures that the best quality lessons are created and
shared. Click here to learn more about the CPALMS LPDI or scroll down for the list of all the available
lessons in this collection.
