Feature: What You Offer is what They Get

First impression lasts, they say – so make it great for lasting effects. You will never get a second
chance in making a first impression – or do you? Product and service design describes the feature of the
product, not only focusing on its appearance but the product as a whole – from what the customers see
on the shelves to its actual value the customers can derived from it. It is crucial to feature your product
to your customers for it can determine whether it is worth trying or if it is worth buying again. The focus
of product and service design is the satisfaction of the customers. You want to communicate through
this the features and benefits to your customers. This differentiate your products from those available in
the market. To arrive to a great design, you must consider first if there is a demand for it, or at least a
potential to be a demandable product. You must also set your standards for your product in a way that
it is attainable for the organization. There are countless ideas for a product’s features, but you must not
overdo it. You need to also consider the economic benefits you can derive from your product. Changes
are inevitable; there might be some modification needed along the way, learn to adapt with it, so long
as it is for the betterment of the product. A change in a design is crucial for it might be a way to a
groundbreaking product. As you are to generate a product and service design, your goal probably is to
make profits from it and ideally to cover the costs for the over its lifetime. But you should take note that
your main goal should be the satisfaction of your customers, thus, focus on a design where you can offer
your customers the best quality of your product with a reasonable price, then you can only create
customer value and eventually generate repeat customers. With this in mind, I should try to be the best
version of myself everyday – not to impress others and receive compliments from them, but because I
genuinely want to be a better person for my growth and to have a better relationships with people
around me. Only then I can create value and have loyal people in my life. I should also be open for
criticisms for this is an avenue to change and improve myself. First impression lasts, they say, but I do
not think it is the last impression – you can always change for the better.
