One sunny day, I woke up early in the morning and got ready for my

first jungle trek with my friends, John and Susan. I was so excited about it. I
quickly took a shower and checked my bags in case I’d forgotten something.
Everything was perfect. I took a short breakfast with my father. After that, I
grabbed my bag and left my house to meet my friends. At that time, I didn’t
know that there would be huge trouble ahead.

The jungle which we planned to go to was quite far from our city. Its
name was Sukihara Jungle. We needed to drive for one hour but it wasn’t a
boring drive as we were all excited about our first jungle trek. We hired a
guide to avoid danger. His name was Jake and he said he had trekked in the
Sukihara Jungle lots of times. At the edge of the jungle, Jake briefed us
about the jungle. Then we started trekking. There were lots of trees and
plants which I hadn’t seen before. The smell and sound of the jungle was so
beautiful and after admiring a very unusual plant for a long while, I noticed
that I was standing at an unusual place. Then I realised that I was lost!

The day started to become darker and scarier. I was very confused
and didn’t know what to do. I called out to my friends but there was no
reply. I was unable to find my way out of the jungle. I was starting to get
tired and hungry. I walked for a few more minutes and then realised that I’d
gone too deep into the jungle. Insects were flying everywhere. A snake
frightened me and made me run. I was terrified and craved to see the end of
this nightmare.

After a few hours of walking, I was so tired and wanted to give up. The
ground was so muddy and made me more tired as I trudged along. I wished
I had a time machine to go back to the time before I got lost. I was so
miserable. I’d never felt this terrible in my life. I gave up all hope and sat on
the ground. When I was about to fall asleep, I heard a human voice. I
distrusted my ears but when there was another voice, I became convinced
that it was real. I shouted and they heard me.

They were rescuers who had coming looking for me because John and
Susan had reported my loss. They took me back to my friends and I was so
happy to see them. My friends and I were sent back to our homes. It was
the worst experience I’d ever had. When I arrived home, I just fell onto the
bed. I promised myself I would never go to the jungle again.
