1. Your Body gets all of energy it need to grow and carry out life processes from the food you
eat

2. The process by which food is broken down and absorbed into the blood is called digestion

3. The digestion of the food you eat is the primary function of digestive system

4. Mouth : teetht in the mouth cut and grind food into small pieces. A digestive juice called
saliva, also breaks down food. The tounge help to push the food into gullet.

5. Gullet : Muscle in the wall of the gullet push the food into the stomach

6. Stomach : Digestive juice in the stomach further break down the food into a soupy liquid

7. Small Intestine :More digestive juice further break down food into substance which the
body can absorb. Digestion is completed in the small intestine

8. Large Intestine ; Any food that cannot be digested goes to the large intestine. The large
intestine removes most of the water from the undigested food.

9. Rectum : the indigested food moves from the large intestine to the rectum and is store as
waste. The waste gets passed out through an opening calle anus

10. Pancreas : Your pancreas makes a digestive juice that has enzymes that break down
carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. The pancreas delivers the digestive juice to the small
intestine through small tubes called ducts.
