Objective:

Human Resource Management (HRM) is concerned with the way in which organizations
manage their people. The aim is to chart some of the broad terrain of a rapidly developing
field of study in order to prepare the students for the more finely grained treatment of
specific HRM topics. This course outline examines the recent rise of HRM, the effects of
the changing context of work on HRM, what it involves, and the strategic nature of HRM
practice, its impact on organizational performance and the changing role of HRM
function.
Pedagogy:

Sessions will be based on lectures and case studies. Cases are contained in the
recommended textbook.

Evaluation Criteria:

Class Participation (including case preparation and Minor test) : 20 %


End Term Exam : 80 %
