The Engineers Registration Board is the statutory body established by the Engineers
Registration Act No. 15 of 1997 as amended by the Engineers Registration (amendment) Act
No. 24 of 2007 and has been given the responsibility of regulating engineering practice in
Tanzania through registration of Engineers and Engineering Consulting Firms and monitoring
of the engineering activities and conduct of Engineers and Engineering Consulting Firms.
Section 14 of the Engineers Registration Act, No. 15 of 1997 as amended in 2007 and
Engineers Registration Regulations, 2010, stipulates that it is illegal to employ a person in
any engineering post if not registered by the Board.
The Board wishes to inform the engineering community and the general public at large that it
has a Facility in place called Engineers Employment Liaison Facility (EELF) at its
Secretariat. This Facility has a primary role of linking Engineers looking for employment
with prospective Employers of Engineers.
Further, the Board urges all employers of engineers who need to employ and use the services
of engineers to contact the Board as they will be assured of getting engineers who possess the
requisite qualifications and experience. Also, Engineers who wish to seek employment
opportunities are advised to contact the Board for linkage facilitation with prospective
employers.
Application forms for both Engineers and Employers can be obtained from the Board’s office
or the website: www.erb.go.tz.
