21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the

World
SHORT FILM MAKING GUIDELINES
1. The story line should be original, free from profane words, and Rated G.
2. Theme must be awesome and feel good stories about highly-relatable themes, especially of the 21st
Century Literature/Theme.
3. Use of copyrighted material is prohibited, unless the owner grants permission. Plagiarized entries
will be disqualified.
4. All entries will be judged on interpretation of a selected category, creative merit, and technical merit.
5. The students must do all the work.
6. Good potential for audience engagement and virality.
7. The storyline and the script should be checked and approved by the 21st Century Literature teacher
before the team/class can start shooting for the film.
8. Each class will only submit one entry.
9. The film must be fifteen minutes long but not longer than twenty minutes in duration, including the
opening and closing credits.
10. Films need not be in English however, subtitling in English is highly encouraged.
11. Any type of video camera or DSLR cameras capable of filming may be used. Animation and
computer graphics are also permitted.
12. Usage of pre-recorded music is allowed but these should be acknowledged in the credits of the film.
It is however encouraged that teams come up with original musical scoring.
13. Create a poster of the film you will produce, print it on an A4 size photo paper.
14. Submit your entry in soft copy (MP4, MOV, AVI) and CD with proper cover and label.
15. Grade 11 and Grade 12 entries will be judged and categorized separately.
16. The films must not be viewed publicly before the end of the competition.
17. Final copy of the film entry must be submitted no later than October 3, 2019 (4:00pm).
18. Final viewing of the entries will be on the second week of October.
