1- Solve the following

a) 2(𝑥-5)=-2
b) =2

2- If a=3, b=4, then find the value of c if

3a=c-2b

3- If you have p number of pens and c number of pencils, write a formulae for
the following:
a) The total number of pens and pencils.
b) You have 3 more pens than pencils.
c) You have 3times pencils than you do have pens.
d) The number of pencils is the same as three times the number of pens
minus one

4- If your expenditure on hot beverage is three times your expenditure on

cold beverage.
a) Write a formulae that describe the relation between the hot and the
cold beverage expenditure.
b) If you spend $12 on hot beverage, how much you are spending on cold
beverage?
c) If you spent $24 on beverages, how much have you spent on cold ones.
