PRS-Neoweb™ (Tough-Cell®) Geocells
PRS-Neoweb (Tough Cell) is an advanced, high-strength geocell (cellular confinement system) designed
for cost-effective soil stabilization and reinforcement, manufactured and distributed by PRS.
PRS-Neoweb is a breakthrough in geocell technology made from Neoloy®, a novel polymeric alloy (NPA)
that enables a very strong stiff and durable geocell for the most demanding road & rail construction,
landscape architecture and civil engineering projects.
PRS has Implemented Thousands of Successful Projects in over 50 Countries around the Globe
PRS-Neoweb geocells are 3D honeycombs of polymeric strips infilled with soil, aggregate or recycled
material. The cellular confinement strengths infill, retains soil and compaction and enhances drainage.
This bottom line is high performance, durability and cost effectiveness in the most difficult conditions.
A proven solution for roads, rails, ports and earth stabilization of slopes and walls, PRS-Neoweb is used
by engineers and contractors for natural
resources development, construction,
transportation and infrastructure around the
globe.
Advantages:
Best engineering performance.
Highest durability and lifespan.
Use marginal infill.
Reduces pavement thickness.
Fast and simple deployment
Cost effective.
Neoloy was Created by PRS in an Extensive R&D Program & Tested by Leading Researchers Worldwide
PRS Innovation
Neoloy® combines the ductility of HDPE with the stability and resistance of polyester. This features very
high resistance to: creep, fatigue, stress-cracking, temperature extremes, oxidation and UV light for
unmatched long-term performance.
Research proves that Neoloy-based PRS-Neoweb increases the modulus of infill material. It also creates
abeam effect (semi-rigid platform) that reduces vertical stress. These factors enable their use in heavy
duty applications such as highways, railways and working platforms. Pavement thickness can be reduced
and pavement life extended – all while using inferior materials for structural infill.
Advantages:
Significantly stiffer and stronger for heavy
cyclical loading.
Very high creep resistance for long
lifespan.
High dimensionally stability for reliable
confinement in wide temperature range.
Very high resistance to UV and oxidation
for high durability.
Enables heavy-duty applications unlike
HDPE based geocells.
Advantages:
Proven in 1000’s installations, field tests and in 50+ published papers.
Outperforms any HPDE based geocell, geogrid or other 2D geosynthetic.
Value engineering – reduce pavement thickness and extend lifespan using inferior materials for
structural infill.
Optimized performance vs. cost – customize according to project requirements.
Neoloy alloy inside – engineered for heavy-duty, long-term performance.
Sustainable – green solution lowers environmental impact and saves resources.
Cost-effective – for both project construction and life-cycle costs.
A Green Construction Method that Improves the Envionrment and Saves Time, Money and Resources
Green Construction
PRS-Neoweb uses ~50% less aggregate for infill and uses local soils or recycled waste for infill to reduce
quarrying. Compacted sections make transport very easy and installation can be performed manually.
Less haul vehicles and earthworks means less pollution and site disruption.
PRS-Neoweb is the best-available solution to protect slopes and stabilize earth. PRS-Neoweb improves
site ecology by preventing erosion and enhancing drainage, and integrated with vegetation, enhances
the soil, micro-ecosystem and visual landscape.
Advantages:
Green construction method.
Sustainable roads and landscapes.
Saves virgin aggregate resources – uses locally available and recycle materials.
Reduces environmental impacts and carbon footprint.
Extends project lifespan and reduces maintenance.
Why PRS
PRS has extensive geotechnical and civil engineering experience, advanced R&D and technologies, and
the largest geocell manufacturing capacity in the world. PRS has been delivering value to customers
since 1996 in almost every type of soil, environment and application around the world.
Advantages
Experience.
Expertise.
Technology leadership.
Global footprint.
Customer support.
OVERVIEW
Load Support
PRS-Neoweb is a stiff and durable geocell designed for heavy duty civil engineering applications, such as
roads, rails and ports as well as earth stabilization.
Advantages:
Improve layer modulus – strengthen low quality infill.
Reduce layer thickness – up to 50%.
Use local, marginal and recycled infill – due to high reinforcement factor.
Extend service life and maintenance cycles – handles more traffic and extends road-life.
Easy and fast deployment – simple logistics and all-weather installation.
Cost effective – save time, manpower, construction and maintenance costs.
Access and rural roads in remote regions where aggregate is scarce and imported.
Haul roads for strong reinforcement of very heavy loads/vehicles without failure.
Temporary / service roads for fast all-weather construction and sufficient strength for heavy
construction vehicles.
Green roads for shoulders, parking lots,
emergency access, park pathways.
Military roads for heavy transport and
armored vehicles.
Advantages:
Improve bearing capacity.
Improve durability.
Use local soil for infill.
Reduce layer thickness.
Reduce settlement.
Lower project costs.
Flexible Pavements
Research and field tests have proven that PRS-Neoweb geocells create a beam effect – a semi-rigid
platform formed from the confinement of unbound granular material – while significantly reducing
vertical stress to lower layers. This enables their use in structural pavements below the asphalt layer.
PRS-Neoweb extends motorway pavement life and reduces layer thickness, while utilizing lower cost
infill materials.
Advantages:
Reduce asphalt layer thickness.
Utilize low strength infill for base layer.
Easy and fast installation.
Extend design life and maintenance cycles.
Save time, money, resources.
