bust (finished size)

Gauge: 4 sts per inch, 6 rows per

inch in st st

Notes: At various points in knitting

this sweater you will find the raglan
shaping cutting into the pattern. Try
to maintain the pattern amongst the
remaining sts as much as you can
while ensuring that you are not
altering the stitch count of a row.
For example if a decrease stitch,
such as a k2tog, is removed from
the pattern due to a raglan decrease
then an increase stitch must also be
omitted, like a yo. When a pattern
stitch can no longer be maintained
switch to st st.

Abbreviations:
k = knit, p = purl, sts = stitches, st st = stocking stitch, tbl = through back loop, M1R = make 1
right leaning, M1L = make 1 left leaning, ssk = slip slip knit, k2tog = knit 2 together, sl = slip,
psso = pass slipped stitch over

Sleeves: (make 2)
Cast on 36(36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 52) sts. Note: I worked the sleeves in the round, but its easy to work
flat and seam afterwards. Just keep track of how you would read the chart for whichever way you
choose to knit your sleeves. Work in 2x2 rib until piece measures 4”. Pattern set up (RS): k5(5, 7, 9,
11, 13, 13) PM work 26 sts from chart B PM k5(5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 13). Continue in pattern as set until
piece measures 8 (8, 7, 7, 6, 6, 4)”. Inc row (RS): k1 M1R k to marker SM work 26 sts from chart B
SM k to last st M1L k 1. Work inc row on next RS row and following 6th (4th, 4th, 4th, 4th, 4th, )
row 5 (11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20) times, 50 (60, 66, 72, 78, 86, 94) sts total. Work even until piece
measures 18”. Raglan decreases (RS): k1 ssk work in pattern to last 3 sts k2tog k1. Repeat this row
every alternate row until 21(27, 30, 33, 36, 40, 44) raglan decrease rows have been worked, 6 sts
remain. Put these sts on a holder.

Finishing:
Seam all pieces together. Button band right side: pick up and knit 2 sts for every 3 rows of knitted
fabric along the edge of the right front. Make sure you have an even number of sts, sample shown
had 98, but the ratio (2 sts to 3 rows) is more important than the number of sts. Work in k2 p2 rib
until band measures 2”. To make button holes: with RS facing (k2 p2) 7 times (bind off the next
two sts p2 k2 p2 k2 p2) 4 times total, and work 2x2 rib to the end of the row. On the next row at
each button hole cast on 2 sts. Work even in 2x2 rib until band measures 3”. Bind off all sts in rib.
Left front button band is the same as the right, but do not make the button holes. Collar: with the
RS facing pick up and knit 15 sts from top edge of right button band, remaining sts from right
front, remaining sts from right sleeve, remaining sts from back, remaining sts from left sleeve,
remaining sts from left front and 15 sts from top edge of left button band. Work in 2x2 rib until
collar measures 8”. Bind off all sts in rib.
