Finished size (bust): 34” (36”, 38”, 40”, 44”)

Materials: 6 (6, 7, 8, 10) skeins Blue Sky Organic Cotton color #81; US 7 (4.50 mm) straight needles, US 7 circular
needle; cable needle, tapestry needle, stitch holder

Gauge: 16 sts and 24 rows is 4” in st st

Note: This sweater is worked all in one piece starting from the bottom of the front, increasing for the sleeves on either side,
decreasing again at the end of the sleeves, and finally cast off on the bottom of the back.
Stitch Key:
right twist: slip 1 stitch to cable needle hold in back, knit 1, knit 1 from
cable needle
left twist: slip 1 stitch to cable needle hold in front, knit 1, knit 1 from
cable needle
right twist purl bg: slip 1 stitch to cable needle hold in back, knit 1,
purl 1 from cable needle
left twist purl bg:slip 1 stitch to cable needle hold in front, purl 1, knit
1 from cable needle

Pattern:
Body Cast on 82 (86, 90, 94, 102) sts. Work in a 2x2 rib for 1½“.
Establish pattern from row 1 of center chart and side charts as follows:
k 6 (8, 10, 10, 14) sts work 14 sts of row 1 of side chart k 12 (12, 12,
14, 14) sts work 18 sts of row 1 of center chart k 12 (12, 12, 14, 14) sts
work 14 sts of row 29 of side chart and k 6 (8, 10, 10, 14) sts. Work
until piece measures 14” (14”, 17½”, 17½”, 21”) ending with either
row 32 of center chart.

Start v-neck shaping as follows: Work until 9 sts of center chart are
worked (row 1 of chart), place remaining sts on holder and turn work.
Work 1 WS row, and at end of row cast on 84 (84, 88, 88, 96) sts for Neck Band Chart
sleeve. RS k2 sts work row 14 sts of row 1 of the side chart, k
remaining sleeve sts and work in patt as set to 3 sts before center chart
k2tog k1 work 9 sts of neck chart. Continue in patt as set dec 1 st each
RS row 10 (10, 10, 12, 12) times more until there is 1 st between side
chart sts and center chart sts. Next RS row work to end of L side chart
p2tog work to last st of center chart p2tog work to end of row.
Continue without shaping until neck edge measures 11” (11”, 12”, 12”,
13”). Work only the 9 sts of neck chart until neckband measures
4” (4”, 5”, 5”, 6”) then leave 9 sts on a holder and left side and sleeve
sts on a separate holder and break yarn. Attach yarn to RS of front.
Work neck shaping same as for left side, and cast on for sleeve same as
for left side. When working neck chart sts alone end on a row that
matches the RS neck band. Graft LS and RS neckbands together. RS:
Attach yarn to left sleeve and work across. At edge of right side pick
up and knit 36 (36, 36, 40, 40) sts from neckband edge. Work these sts
in st st. When sleeves measure 12” (12”, 13”, 14”, 18”) BO 84 (84,88,
88, 96) sts at beginning of next two rows. When length of back from
sleeve BO measures the same as the front from rib to sleeve cast on,
work 2x2 rib for 1½”. BO all sts.

Finishing Fold sweater in half and sew seams up the sides and down
the sleeves. Using circular needle pick up and k 120 (120, 132, 132,
140) sts around neck. Work in 2x2 rib for 4 rows and BO all sts.
