William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor.

He was born on
26 April 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon. His father was a successful local
businessman and his mother was the daughter of a landowner.. He is often called
England's national poet and nicknamed the Bard of Avon. He wrote about 38 plays,
154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and a few other verses, of which the
authorship of some is uncertain. His plays have been translated into every major
living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.

Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway at the age of 18. She was eight years older
than him. They had three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. After
his marriage information about his life became very rare. But he is thought to have
spent most of his time in London writing and performing in his plays. Between
1585 and 1592, he began a successful career in London as an actor, writer, and
part-owner of a playing company called the Lord Chamberlain's Men, later known
as the King's Men.

Shakespeare produced most of his known work between 1589 and 1613. His early
plays were mainly comedies and histories and these works remain regarded as
some of the best work produced in these genres. He then wrote mainly tragedies
until about 1608, including Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, and Macbeth, considered
some of the finest works in the English language. In his last phase, he wrote
tragicomedies, also known as romances, and collaborated with other playwrights.

Shakespeare's plays remain highly popular today and are constantly studied,
performed, and reinterpreted in diverse cultural and political contexts throughout
the world.

Around 1613, at the age of 49, he retired to Stratford , where he died three years
later. Few records of Shakespeare's private life survive. He died on 23 April 1616,
at the age of 52. In his will, Shakespeare left the bulk of his large estate to his elder
daughter Susanna.
Joanne Rowling was born on 31st July 1965. She, her sister and her parents lived
in Winterbourne, Gloucestershire, until Joanne was nine, when the family moved
to Tutshill, near Chepstow.

Joanne grew up surrounded by books as her mum and dad loved reading. She
wrote her first book at the age of six – a story about a rabbit called Rabbit. Then
when she was eleven she wrote a novel about seven cursed diamonds and the
people who owned them.

Joanne went to school at Wyedean Comprehensive School and then went on to

study French and Classics at the University of Exeter. Her Classics studies would
come in very handy later when she was thinking up all the spells in Harry Potter,
some of which are based on Latin!

J.K. Rowling first had the idea for Harry Potter while delayed on a train travelling
from Manchester to London King’s Cross in 1990. Over the next five years, she
began to plan out the seven books of the series. She wrote mostly in longhand and
amassed a mountain of notes, many of which were on scraps of paper. In 1991,
J.K.Rowling left England to get a job as an English teacher in Portugal. It was here that
she met her first husband, Jorge Arantes – and together they had a child Jessica.
However, after a couple of years, the couple split after a fierce argument; where by all
accounts J.K.Rowling was thrown out of the house.

She arrived in Edinburgh in 1993 with three chapters of Harry Potter and the
Philosopher’s Stone in her suitcase. When Joanne had finished the manuscript, she
sent the first three chapters to a number of literary agents, one of whom wrote back
asking to see the rest of it. After finishing the first book and whilst training as a
teacher, Harry Potter was accepted for publication by Bloomsbury. Harry Potter
and the Philosopher’s Stone quickly became a bestseller on publication in 1997.
As the book was translated into other languages, Harry Potter started spreading
round the globe – and J.K. Rowling was soon receiving thousands of letters from
fans.

The Harry Potter books have since broken many records. In 2007 Harry Potter
and the Deathly Hallows became the fastest-selling book ever The Harry Potter
series is now published in 80 languages, and over 500 million copies have been
sold across the world. J.K. Rowling has also written three companion volumes in
aid of charity: Quidditch Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to
Find Them (in aid of Comic Relief and Lumos); and The Tales of Beedle the Bard
(in aid of Lumos).
J.K. Rowling has received many awards and honours, including an OBE for
services to children’s literature, France’s Légion d’Honneur, and the Hans
Christian Andersen Award. She continues to write for us and we are really waiting
her new works.

What do think

1. There are lots of estate that has remained yet. I would like to tell you about
Sharovka in Harkiv region. It was built for owner of sugar mill in 14th
century. It looks like French castle, built in the renaissance style. Also there
is a huge park. It was a sanatorium for a long time and then a clinic for
patients suffering from tuberculosis. Now people like visiting that estate and
walking around.
2. I can’t say that aristocracy has reserved nowadays. Of course there are rich
people in Ukraine, but they don`t inherit their property, they work and earn
money in most cases. We can`t say about aristocracy because there were not
any titles in Soviet period, that could be inherited by us. Children from rich
families prefer to go to private schools or studyabroad.
3. In my opinion it is fair to inherit something valuable from your ancestors, if

they can give it for of course. I think that parents give their children
financial support as a inheritance, that may help them at the beginning of
their life. Of course our future depends only on us and anybody should`nt
hope that legacy will make your life easier.
