DESCRIBE THE MANAGEMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES.

In describing the management of human resources, we have to consider its

basics since it is essential for a business of all sizes. Now, we will start with a brief
description of Human Resource Management.

If you hire people into a business, you are looking for people who match the
company practice as they will be more comfortable, stay longer, and be richer than
people who won’t fit into the company culture. This is an example of the management of
human resources. It means practicing the management of people to achieve better
performance in their areas of responsibility.

Now, who are these people? They are Human Resource. They can contribute to
an organization, they are the company’s workforce, and they can be regular or
contractors. Therefore, Human resources are very important to establish a more vibrant
and sound organization.

To move further, the management of human resources can be broadly classified

into the following categories. They can be managerial, operative, or advisory functions.

Managerial functions can be broken down into planning, organizing, staffing,

directing, and controlling. Planning includes organizing activities required to achieve
the desired goal. For example, preparing an agenda for a program. Organizing is very
crucial since this is generally valuable for those of any size. Staffing includes obtaining
and maintaining competent personnel in various positions at all levels. On the other
hand, directing happens when the managers instruct, guide, and oversee the
performance of the workers. Finally, controlling helps to check the errors and to
implement corrective actions to solve such cases.

and counsel top management in initiating and recommending changes within the
organization. It provides service to the line and other staff groups. Also, it performs
control or inspection function for line managers, and foresee coming problems of
personnel and suggest precautionary measure. Therefore, this function should win the
sensitive attitude of line managers for they may face conflict from line managers.

Concerning the laboratory workforce, human resource managers are

responsible for all of the typical tasks associated with the profession such as staffing,
payroll, and training as well as additional special tasks that unique to the laboratory
environment. Ensuring safety and health, hiring personnel, enforcing organizational
policies, and maintain licenses should be given into consideration.

Above all, employees engage with employers and brands when they are treated as
humans. To build a rewarding employee experience, you need to understand what
matters to your people. To win the marketplace, you must first win the workplace. Train
people well enough so they can leave. Treat them well enough so they don’t want to.
After all, a person who feels appreciated will always do more than what is expected.
